"I’m actually searching for the right location. I have known about this area for many years and would recommend it to anyone. Seeing that I was raised and resided in the Southeast and surrounding Bay Area, I highly recommend this location. I also practiced Real Estate for 20+ years outside my primary employment, the area is highly sought after. I am looking to downsize to a location for myself seeing that both of my children have graduated from College and now happily married. I am also widowed and this location appeals to my style of living for many years to come. More information will be requested by me. Thank you "

"ur neighborhood hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, such as seasonal festivals, holiday parades, outdoor movie nights, and block parties. There’s a wonderful mix of older and middle-aged families, which creates a strong sense of community and makes every gathering feel welcoming and inclusive."

"This area has a lot for kids to do and the neighborhoods are more kid-friendly than some other areas in Houston that I’ve lived in. The schools are outstanding here; they have a wide array of courses available on the high school level. I work for the school district as a substitute teacher, and what I see going on in the schools is outstanding. Great place to raise kids!"

"Christmas lights during the holiday season. Holiday markets for gifts and treats. Lots of friendly people in the neighborhoods. One thing we don't like: the razing of a 100 year old National Historic Register property that was significant, beautiful and structurally sound with no effort whatsoever to recycle, or reuse any of the high-end building materials from the site. A disgrace. "

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne of the worst experiences we have ever had. SpEd is completely incompetent. Child's IEP is regularly NOT followed. Teachers are dismissive, rude, and unresponsive to communication. Principal Horner is kind to your face but ineffective. Jennifer Vargas, the Special Education Team Lead, is completely useless. Horrible at her job and does not advocate for your kids or ensure they are getting their needs met. If you can move and go anywhere else you should. This school needs a complete admin and staff overhaul.Parent Review1mo ago11 Reviews - Brookwood Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love love love this school, the staff, the environment, the family engagement, everything! We are planning on moving to a home that's unfortunately out of the district and we are 100% going to be transferring our kids back into this school. The teachers are all amazing and well trained to work with more "challenging" students. They hold tons of events that keep parents and the community engaged. We love this school and I am not looking forward to our kids having to leave after 5th. 10/10Parent Review4mo ago15 Reviews - John F Ward Elementary School
