"35 is a little congested and will take about 45 minutes to get downtown in average during the day, but if you hop over to MoPac it's not too bad, and shaves off about 10-15 minutes. Just don't go telling too many people, or it will get worse."

"Allandale is quite conveniently located, between several major streets and highways, but youād never know it. Our neighborhood is very quiet with wide, tree-lined streets and very little traffic at any hour. Quick access to downtown Austin, The Domain, or any of the excellent restaurants in the adjacent communities. "

"We have a park by our elementary school. People walk their dogs, stroll their children and play soccer and basketball. Everyone is so friendly and neighbors will help anyone who needs it. "

"My neighborhood has ok access to public transportation. It has easy access to all major freeways in north Austin, and only takes 15-30 minutes to commute downtown. "

"There are many young, professional families in the neighborhood, as well as original owners. Great neighborhood for walking to the park with your kids, and easy to commute to anywhere in Austin. "

"The original Hathaway Drive area (from Shamrock north toward 183) consists of Hathaway Drive and Bowling Green Drive, and the connecting roads leading from Burnet Road. This area starts where the track field sits for Burnet Middle School. and is inhabited with quiet, orderly and hard working people who do not have dogs staked in the front yard nor is there any graffitti on fences, loud parties, crazy drivers, etc. Most of the homes were built in the early 1950's and are 100% limestone quarried from the area. Anything that is not limestone is much newer. There is another Hathaway/Bowling Green area at the southern end of the area when the school sits on Doris Drive. These are very small homes, usually with no or 1 car garages. These homes were built later, too, and are not in the area I discuss here.. I know nothing about that area, but there is a distinct difference in the two. My mother lived here in the house my grandfather built, and owned rent homes in the area. Even now previous tenants contact me wanting to know if "their home"tmight be sold to them. I think that speaks well of this neighborhood...how often do previous tenants try to buy the house they once rented ? There is traffic associated with Burnet Middle School, and soccer players who practice daily at the track field, and, of couse, an occasional driver tries to find a shortcut and gets lost. Ohlen Road is at one end of Hathaway, and it runs from Burnet to Research. The area is definitely part of a city...it is no longer as quiet (Research runs 24/7...) as when I was a child, but neighbors walk, ride bikes, and just hang out much like then. Homes sell quickly, and the location can't be beat if you commute via MoPac, Research or IH 35. I know nothing about the schools anymore, but have not heard of or seen any crime in the area so I guess it's pretty low in these few blocks anyway."

"If you like to hear your car alarm going off @ two in the morning. Or, going for a walk with your kid and dog & relize that the mad looking pitbull you thought was chained up in front of the house you just past wasn't chained up anymore now it is following you. My daughter was very scared! The traffic and parking is horrible. Probably because nobody parks in their driveways, and because of all the cars parked on the street you can't see around corners @ intersections. The same speeding red car has nearly T-boned me twice. The schools aren't worth talking about."

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff at this school work very hard to make learning interesting and fun for the students. Every teacher I have encountered at Wooten has a passion for teaching young children. The school still does tend to put too much emphasis on the state tests--as most schools do. My children love this school!Parent Review8y ago4 Reviews - Redeemer Lutheran School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son started attending Redeemer for Pre-K3 and has been in the elementary school for two years now. We have been very happy with the school's curriculum and the focus teaching kids about Jesus. The school provides a safe and caring environment while offering a great community of believers. It's a great alternative for those wanting a different option to public school and has the support of a great church.Parent Review4mo ago42 Reviews
