NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this school for 9 years, from K-8. In general, K-4 were fine years for me, but 5-8 were undoubtedly some of the worst years of my life. This school might value education, but let me assure you that this is not a perk. Education and involvement of students are the bare minimum for a school. As a student, it was clearer to me the lack of care from the teachers about things students said, did, and who they did and did not involve. Fortunately, my own grade was mostly friendly, but especially the higher grades bullied the ones beneath them.Teaching - as with all schools, there are always bad teachers. Unfortunately, this school is packed full of them, and oftentimes strangles out the good ones. Teachers will bully, humiliate, and generally look down on students, especially ones without many friends, and dismiss it as joking with them.Social-emotional support - This school does not care whatsoever about the mental state of your child. Their main goal is to keep the school's record as pristine as possible, and if your child is anything outside the box, they choke them out until they keep their mouth shut.Special Education - Please, if your child has any kind of mental disability, save them from this school's awful system. They do the absolute, bare-bones minimum, if anything at all, to make it any easier for your child no matter which grade they're in. I have AuDHD and was not helped whatsoever, and the teachers blatantly discriminated against and criminalised me for it.Safety - As mentioned several times(you're probably already sick of me mentioning it), the teachers themselves discriminate and punish students for minute things as an excuse for covering up anything like a student's mental or physical health. The student council is the only thing keeping the social support system running.I have nothing to say regarding family engagement, as my family chose not to engage much.I am a transgender male, and came out in the sixth grade. Before that, I was still openly a part of LGBTQ+. This school made me lose my faith by telling me that all parts of my community were wrong and satanic. I got no support from any of the staff aside from the music teacher, and my mental health declined significantly from being humiliated every day that I walked in. Today was my last day, and I wanted to write this blatantly disgusting school a sour goodbye. Believe me, there are several other catholic schools worth much more of your time than Nativity of Our Lord.Other Review3w ago17 Reviews - Our Lady of Good Counsel School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI started to attend this school in 2011, and I loved it. All the staff were amazing people and always accommodated others and went out of their way to help students understand the content they were teaching, but everything changed once the principal was replaced. Since none of the teachers liked the new principal, around 80% of them left the next year. The new principal is a nice person, but is kind of unjustly strict, leaving the students with no chance to explain themselves and making them feel like what they say doesn't matter. Although I understand how hard a job as a principal is, I don't think that falsely accusing students of punishable offenses is a way to deal with your problems. Most of the new teachers that have been hired recently are irresponsible and rude, leaving kids to act up in their classes. I could go through thousands of things wrong with the teachers, but I won't go on a rant. Not all is bad, though, since there are some really good teachers. There are about 3 teachers that teach middle school level that are responsible and intelligent. The rest are young, very irresponsible and irritable. There is one teacher that I especially dislike, but I won't list names for the sake of my own safety. Even without the issue of teachers, the school (mostly the boys bathrooms) is never clean, due to the annoying students ruining it out of spite of the school, which ruins the experience for everyone else. The only thing they do to fix this is completely banning the use of bathrooms instead of finding out who did the crime. This I don't understand, since they literally have cameras everywhere, and they could easily find the culprits, but I personally think that they're too lazy to do anything about it. Talking about laziness, there used to be a plethora of school events and fundraisers that I could think of off the top of my head, but they've all been either degraded into nothing or been erased from the year completely. Everything feels like they put barely any effort into it, and it really sucks, since they had some really amazing and engaging events in the past. Anyway, I feel as if they've gotten lazier and lazier as the years go on. They've promise us new equipment and re-vamps all the time, but nothing ever happens. We are told that we raise thousands of dollars through fundraisers, and it will be used to upgrade or install things, but again, it never happens. These are only a few problems I have, but I also don't think you shouldn't go here.Other Review3y ago9 Reviews - Bright Eyes Academy
