"Lots of dog walkers. People don’t take care of the front of their homes. Neighbors are not very friendly. "

"The public transit shouldn’t be used by young children, but I believe it is a good option for older kids to use it to get around. I think that kids should not wander around the city unsupervised late at night as there can be some shifty characters roaming around. There are tons of cool attractions, historical sites, museums, greenery filled public spaces, wonderful restaurants and educational opportunities in Philadelphia. I don’t regret moving here, however the city is still far from perfect."

"There’s a lot of dog owners in the neighborhood and lots of dogs parks that are easy to walk to within the area. I really love how friendly the neighborhood is towards dog owners and how welcoming small businesses are to allowing dogs to come in/sit with owners in the outdoor dining areas. The sidewalks are pretty clean and well maintained "

"Fishtown was gentrified from as more people became priced out of Center City and its neighboring communities. It has become more safe and more diverse because of gentrification. "

"All of them! We make a block party early in the evening for the kids and then when they’re all chilled out, all the grownups hang out. And you always feel safe here. "

"My neighborhood is a very hip and up in coming area. Very safe besides the occasional people who try to jitter your door handle to see if it’s open. Other than that I love this area! Adaire Elementary school is great as well. "

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a substitute teacher and have been to many schools in this district. This school is a free for all. At any given moment there are special needs students running the halls because there is no support for them. There is no security and a child could and has left the building without an adult being aware. The principal "encourages" the staff with negative comments leading to very low morale. I would send my kid to any other school and look into this one if my child was attending.Teacher Review2y ago18 Reviews - Bethel Baptist Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is truly a dream school! They are teaching my son more than I could have imagined. His spiritual, academic, and physical education are all important and they give him a better education than I could have ever hoping for in a public or charter school. They treat a child like family and show them love and respect with everything they do. I'm so grateful to have a safe and loving place for my son to learn and grow.Parent Review7y ago2 Reviews - St Laurentius School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Laurentius School has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. Our children were educated in a loving, dynamic environment by teachers and staff motivated to reach every child where they are. SLS is always looking to improve - their school building, their teaching methods, their academic program - while holding strong to their foundation and education. My children who have graduated already were incredibly prepared for high school and we love it.Parent Review9mo ago11 Reviews - Holy Name of Jesus
