"Children are safe in our neighborhood. This part of town is known for its friendly people but most importantly for its home ownership. We take pride in our properties. Also, being within close proximity of parochial school, city schools, F&M, Buchanan Park and their amazing dog park is huge plus!"

"Lots of families and retired folks. Very calm and generally neighborly, though I think I look young enough that no one ever thought to seriously befriend me. Lol"

"Friendly, clean, close to many events-stores...walkable. Nice area! Apts and houses seem to be well maintained. The neighborhood takes care of their properties. Folks take pride in their homes and surroundings. The area is very quaint and historical. The homes are so pretty. With all the trees around it gives the neighborhood a cozy homey feeling. I’ve noticed the landscaping makes the area more attractive, more inviting and so appealing. It makes one feel safer than other demographic areas of living. People seem to CARE more about the place they live in. These folks seem to have a more positive outlook towards their homes, others properties and their outlook in life. Some events go on in the area. People take pride in decorating for different seasons and holidays. I feel a peaceful nature, belonging when talking to others around here. Overall , it is one of the better and tranquil spots to live in. Also feel more secure and happier around here."

"There are a lot of families with children in the area. I have a two year old and I always feel safe. And Buchanan park is in walking distance which has a dog park if you’re pet owners as well. "

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Melanie Martinez is incompetent and doesn't take bullying or physical assault seriously my child was stabbed in the neck with a spork by another student, and she did absolutely nothing about it. She simply talked to the student and told him not to do it again. The child was not suspended or anything and was still allowed to play at recess. When I called to explain the seriousness of the child's actions I was told that I was overreacting. When I grew angry and used foul language I was hung up on. I had to get a police officer to go up to the school and explain the seriousness of what happened. Hopefully we get a new principal soon that actually looks out for our children. School should be a place that is safe for our kids. Be cautious when sending your children to this school. And don't ever stop advocating for your child.Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Sacred Heart School
