My daughter attended Harmony Montessori School for 2 years of preschool through the Preschool for All program. We chose this school because we wanted a Montessori education close to our home that participated in PFA. We found that this school met all of these needs and had the best reviews from other parents/community members. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my child's first years in a school setting. We were worried how it would go because she started out behind her peers socially/emotionally and verbally. All of my fears were wiped away when I met her teachers and could immediately feel how deeply they care about teaching and their students. I regularly received pictures and informal reports noting how my child was enjoying learning, making friends, and growing each and every day. Even the administrative staff, including the Head of School, welcomed us in everyday, cheered my child on, and listened/brainstormed any concerns I had. I truly felt we were seen and heard.By the time my daughter 'graduated' preschool at HMS, she was absolutely thriving. She had completely come out of her shell and was excelling in areas she where she had previously struggled. I have no doubt that the school environment (small class size, emphasis on community/inclusivity, balance of structure/freedom, dedicated and appreciated staff, importance placed on play/outdoor exploration, etc.) made a lasting impact on my child's beliefs about education and the endless possibilities she has moving forward as a whole person/community member/lifelong learner.I can't thank Harmony enough for the wonderful experience we had and the impact they have made on our lives.
