Prospect Heights

Wonderful school with amazing teachers and the best principal. We relocated to the area and have been so happy with Genet. The PTO is active and brings some wonderful events. The teachers are so responsive and clearly love what they are doing. Genet is the ESL school for the district and so there is great diversity. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful school with a great staff

Find another school for the sake of your child and yourself. There is better education on YouTube than here. They do not take discipline and bullying seriously. Save your child the horror and abuse (mental, emotional and physical) they will go through and maintain your sanity. The teachers will not do anything but tell your kids to ignore and over look them being bullied, the assistant principle will just butter you up so you can go home, you’ll never see the principal and let’s not even mention the superintendent that is technically nonexistent until court is mentioned and one of his employee’s says something.

Administration can be confrontational children complaints are thrown under the rug. Unfriendly environment, bullying, and confidential information spoke out in the open.

The Free School has had a shift in leadership(circa 2021/22). This has lead to a seismic shift in how they teach, treat and engage students, parents and the community. The school building itself is in shambles. Toilets frequently go without working, kitchen is shut down due to gas leak from the stove, which has gone unresolved for years now. Current leadership does not seem vested in the community or the school instead using the school's platform in self serving ways.
