"The most important aspect to this project was that the community was growing and developing as the community progressed as "

"The street fairs in 9th Ave, great restaurants and proximity to Lincoln Center, Central Park, and Riverside Park make this the most fun neighborhood in NYC."

"As with any NYC neighborhood, there are occasional random acts of crime and violence. Just the other day I witnessed an assault while walking with my three-year-old. My family and I are always very cautious with passers-by on the sidewalk. Other than that we love the neighborhood."

"Not the safest area to raise children right now because things have gotten violent and dangerous. Not the same area it used to be."

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 3 years with my partner, our pup, and our 14 month old daughter. My partner grew up in this neighborhood as well! The neighborhood took a minute to grow on me but now I absolutely love it! Great family neighborhood with something for everyone. Parks everywhere!! 2 dog parks we frequent regularly (one right by the water) and only a few blocks from our favorite place in the city, Central Park. Lots of restaurants and take out/delivery options. Really the heart of Manhattan so we are close to everything. Close to classes for my daughter and museums (MoMa is a super short walk). Trader Joe’s on UWS is quick by train, Whole Foods at Columbus Circle, and Amish Market is in the neighborhood for last minute needs. Super busy and sometimes loud nightlife is only downside. The farther west you go - can get a little sketchy. But pretty awesome all around!"

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been attending this school for 2 years now. It is a great school with great music and art programs. My daughter had to have a safety transfer from a previous school so it has been a huge blessing not getting called weekly that something has happened to my child. The afterschool program is AMAZING as well! They have so many cool clubs to keep the kids entertained and involved like fashion and girl code. This is my daughter's last year of Elementary school so it will be bitter sweet for her to transition over to middle school. If you are looking for a great school for your child look no further.Parent Review6y ago20 Reviews - Ps 111 Adolph S Ochs

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve had a wonderful experience at PS 111 in Hell’s Kitchen. The transition to the school was seamless when my daughter joined in 3rd grade after being accepted into the Gifted & Talented (G&T) program. After learning more about the school and the many opportunities it offers, we decided to move our son to PS 111 as well. The school provides several affordable and free after-school programs, which has been a huge benefit for our family. Through partnerships with organizations like YOSL, my children have had the opportunity to learn violin and cello. There are also creative partnerships with a local theater, giving students exposure to the arts.PS 111 also does a great job building community. Families are invited to events like movie nights and monthly “Family Fridays,” where we learn more about what students are working on in class. There are also many opportunities for parents to volunteer. The PTA is very active, and the principal clearly cares about the students and is always accessible. It’s truly a supportive and engaging school community.Parent Review2mo ago22 Reviews - Ps 212 Midtown West
