Hillside Manor

This school works closely with the family to provide an all inclusive learning experience for the student. Not too crowded like many other school in the same district. All students get equal attention.

The school seems to be improving with the new principal and assistant principal, and everything they are doing feels like it’s moving in the right direction. At the same time, I’ve noticed that the specials, like music, don’t seem to capture the students’ interest as much as they could, and it might help if the teacher took a more welcoming and friendly approach. The grading in music also doesn’t feel very fair, as many students seem to be receiving ‘N’s without parents being contacted or given feedback. I’ve also heard from several parents who share similar concerns about this class. On a positive note, the art teacher is wonderful and the gym teachers are doing a great job.

Funding driven school. Teachers just push curriculum to students. No extra support given. Some teachers are mean and cruel, some lack experiences, some shouldnt even being teaching young students. No special classes or programs if students can advance. This school extremely worry about and stay strictly on top of student head counts, which drives the school funding.

My family moved to the area last year. My kids had a smooth transition to their new school, they felt welcomed and part of community right away. They offer a lot of support for all students and the teachers are consistently checking in with us. We are so happy to have our kids at GCP!
