4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have seen so many changes at Dondero ES over the years. They have new buildings, a new library, and a new lunchroom. Now they have a lot of sports, musical performances, and dance.Parent Review6y ago7 Reviews - Helen Jydstrup Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a good school for a special ed student. The teacher’s are under qualified and hardly know how to do their job. I am very surprised that they were even hired to teach my child. It feels like the teacher is snitching on my child when it comes to her behaviors, no professionalism at all. It is a constant headache. I can’t wait to switch my daughter to a better school.Parent Review7mo ago21 Reviews - Tony Alamo Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has never had issues prior to transferring to this school. My child was on A/B honor roll before attending Tony Alamo. Sadly, my child’s grades have declined. The school has a lot of bullying issues and doesn’t have a proper way to resolve them. Their method is to give “lunch detention for a few days” including the child who gets bullied. “To be fair”. What is that teaching our children? To me that is absolutely absurd! If my child feels the need to defend themselves, why should they be punished? My child received death threats from other students and has attempted to push off other students, and yet gets punishment. My child doesn’t feel they are able to speak up, and feels discriminated. “Mommy, why am I the only one getting in trouble?”. A child should not feel this way at a place of learning and what is deemed as “safe”. I am not the only parent who feels this way as I have asked others about their impression of Tony Alamo. My child did not dislike attending school until we ended up with this one UNFORTUNATELY. I do not recommend this school AT ALL.Parent Review2w ago12 Reviews - Joseph E Thiriot Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI previously worked with a first grade teacher now employed here. She was a big bully. She, along with a few other teachers, hoarded all the first grade supplies at our school. When they all moved to another school, all the Rowe first grade supplies mysteriously disappeared. No integrity....Other Review8mo ago13 Reviews - Dr. Beverly S. Mathis Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated this school in 2023 and honestly the school has changed but the teachers are engaging and helpful but the safety at the school can be concerning, there are a lot of crazy drivers and bad kids (once a kid threaten someone else). From my experience at the school it was good, but this school goes through a lot of teachers and my 4th grade teacher is now the P.E teacher. Though, the school is very engaging with the students they hold different events for each grades. For example at the end of the year the 5th graders walk throughout the entire , every hallway so that means every grade level. I think it's for the students so they can reflect on where they used to be and who they are now. The kids who go there are can be mean and they do say bad (don't think you kid is good kid at school if their good at home) some parents do need to keep them in check, manng that the teachers will get mad at them. Then again some teachers can be mean and can target specific kids which is just and fair, it didn't happen to me during my year but it can happen. Overall, put your kid into a school where you want them to grow and have fun so I would recommend this school but go with what you feel like is best for your child.Other Review5mo ago1 Reviews
