"Path train is easy to get to at Newark Penn. it’s a brief walk to the station. I’ve taken the buses a few times. They are very timely to the minute. "

"There are many families around. And many schools. They are good over all but you need to know your kid so you can use a school system that works for you. Many schools have cero tolerance policies but many kids do not do good on those environments. "

"Great commute with Path or NJ transit blocks away. If you live further you can get on the light rail to get to the trains for NYC."

"Very little activities and parks for children. Not kid friendly and no do parks. No where to sit outside and have a coffee."

"It’s close to many businesses so it can be loud at times. Quiet and peaceful at night. It can be hot in the warmer weather."

"I first moved downtown with my dog who grew up in the suburbs so there was a bit of an adjustment when there was no grass along the sidewalks for him."

"My commute is luxurious, a 7 minute walk down the block. My favorite thing about living here. No need for a car if you live and work in Downtown Newark. "

"This area is at the heart of 4 Colleges/Universities (Rutgers, UMDNJ, NJIT, & Berkley College). Very diverse community because of the college kids and faculty living in the area. Patrolled by Newark's police department, Rutger's Police Department & NJIT police department at the same time 24/7. One block away from train station to NY and Newark path (Commute to NYC is about 15 min!) and 15 min drive to Newark International Airport. In the middle of the historic district surrounded by brownstone houses. Targeted by city officials, state planners, and national non-profits for urban renewal. Mayor Hospital (Saint Michale's) 2 blocks away. Blue ribbon school around the corner. Newark's Museum and public library 3 blocks away. Park with summer farm market at walking distance.Area is included in the Downtown district plans so it is reduced property tax and reduce commerce/sales tax. Community involvement is a plus in this area with a very active Neighborhood association with a focus on community development and historical preservation."
