"There’s a beautiful park right in front of my house. Shop rite is close by. Rutgers university hospital is very close which is also my husband’s work place. There’s a huge police building right next to the park. "

"I work in NYC this area is great for commuters like me. There is access with in walking distance to the light rail, and 2 or 3 bus lines from both Newark Penn Station and Newark Broad Street. As well Uber isn’t costly from Newark Penn. "

"Society Hill is the main community and their events are limited to homeowners and residents. I wouldn’t live anywhere else in this area but in Society Hill. The rent is high but it’s worth it. "

"I drive into Manhattan early morning, normally 35 minutes. Coming back is an hour and fifteen. I've tried public transit but I find it unrelieved and too expensive given the quality of several. "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNEWSFLASH: This school no longer exists. It hasn t existed since 2005. The school building now houses University Heights Charter School. I attended this school for Pre-K. I have many happy memories here, like praying before lunch with Mrs. Atwell, or having picnics on the grass by the playground. This was a lovely school. I think they went through financial issues, because they closed down. It s so sad that all the great, promising private schools of the nineties had to close down: Bethany Christian Academy, The Chad School, St. Lucy Filippini, among many others.Other Review14y ago1 Reviews - Philip's Academy Charter School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really struggled with the way dismissal was handled at this school. I am claustrophobic, and when over 100 people were trying to leave out of one single door, it became very overwhelming and uncomfortable for me. I tried to calmly explain this to the staff and asked if I could exit through another door, especially since I was suggesting they let other parents use it too to make things easier and safer. Instead, I was told I wasn’t allowed, even though it clearly would have helped with the crowding. I felt dismissed and like my concerns weren’t taken seriously, which made the whole situation much more stressful than it needed to be.Parent Review8mo ago8 Reviews
