University Heights

this school kind of sucks, they haven't fixed the playground or cleaned the bathrooms, especially unblocking youtube. This is just like last school year, like what's going on? i can't believe my friends are leaving this school because how disrespectful the school

NEWSFLASH: This school no longer exists. It hasn t existed since 2005. The school building now houses University Heights Charter School. I attended this school for Pre-K. I have many happy memories here, like praying before lunch with Mrs. Atwell, or having picnics on the grass by the playground. This was a lovely school. I think they went through financial issues, because they closed down. It s so sad that all the great, promising private schools of the nineties had to close down: Bethany Christian Academy, The Chad School, St. Lucy Filippini, among many others.

I really struggled with the way dismissal was handled at this school. I am claustrophobic, and when over 100 people were trying to leave out of one single door, it became very overwhelming and uncomfortable for me. I tried to calmly explain this to the staff and asked if I could exit through another door, especially since I was suggesting they let other parents use it too to make things easier and safer. Instead, I was told I wasn’t allowed, even though it clearly would have helped with the crowding. I felt dismissed and like my concerns weren’t taken seriously, which made the whole situation much more stressful than it needed to be.
