Six Forks

My children have had another amazing year at Brooks ES. Each day they are excited to go to school. They have both grow academically and socially and really enjoy the Museum Magnet program so much. They have had many in school and off campus field trips, participated in many special programs like Chorus and enrichment groups and attended many fantastic assemblies. They learn from many wonderful, talented and caring teachers and I could not be more grateful!

This is my child's third year at Green, and it is an amazing school environment for students. The teachers are very supportive of their students, and it is evident they get to know the kids they work with. This is the case for classroom teachers, specialists, world language teachers, and counselors. Ms. Blake has established culture that is student-centered, and we appreciate the opportunities they have given our child. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Green!*I did not rate the spec ed section, since we have no experience there.

We had high hopes for Saint Timothy’s, but unfortunately, our experience has been mixed at best. The school has been drifting in a more liberal direction, which may not align with every family’s values. While there are some genuinely passionate teachers who care deeply about their students, the quality across the board is inconsistent. Each grade seems to have at least one teacher who is disinterested, overly authoritative, or simply not invested in teaching—more focused on control than growth.Math in the middle school is especially concerning. The curriculum feels disorganized and uninspired, and there’s little evidence of differentiation for students at different levels. There’s a particular emphasis on rigidity over learning, which makes it hard for students to thrive.
