8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 3 children a JGES and have enjoyed our experience here over the last 4 years. The teachers (and staff) are fantastic - really caring about the kids and making the classroom fun. They also teach positive character traits and reward good behavior in fun ways that encourage the kids to be their best selves. There are a few curricular opportunities that are neat. There is a great teacher-run after care program as well. Involved PTA that support the teachers and kids. Our children love it there.Parent Review6y ago16 Reviews - Lacy Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy wife and I are retired and our grandchildren have been attending Lynn Road (LRES) for a total of 11 years so far. We volunteer several days a week because we enjoy being a part of the positive and supportive atmosphere at LRES. We tutor math and reading, monitor programs for advanced students, assist students in the library, help with the annual Student Talent Show and the annual Musical Play, and enjoy beautifying the campus with flowers and bushes. The teachers and staff are top notch and truly care about each child and it definitely shows! But the biggest asset is the active PTA and parent involvement. We know most of the parents as well as the kids because of their participation. LRES is truly like one big family. I know there are a lot of other public and private schools in Raleigh, but I guarantee you won’t find a better one than LRES!Other Review2mo ago34 Reviews - Stough Elementary

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can’t speak to the rest of the school but beware if your child is on special education. The administration treats the teachers like dogs. At the end of 23-24, the entire CCR and self-contained teams left and so far this year as of mid-October 2024, 4 of the 6 CCR and self-contained teachers have quit, so students will not be receiving the support they are legally required to receive. The admin will tell you it was the teachers, but that is not true. A new principal was just announced, so I hope she is able to turn it around, but be aware and ask questions if your child is in sped.Teacher Review1y ago23 Reviews - York Elementary

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a tight knit community school. I love that children can attend from kindergarten through 8th grade. The small class sizes and STEAM focus allows for more hands-on learning and critical thinking than I've seen in other WCPSS options.Parent Review2mo ago35 Reviews - Follow the Child Montessori School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has been at Follow the Child for three years, and our experience has been nothing short of outstanding. We have one child in Toddler House and another in the Children’s House, both of which have exceeded our expectations across the board. I love that the school’s administrators are out front every morning greeting students as they arrive, always warm and welcoming. All of the teachers and staff are kind, respectful, and genuine, and it is very clear they care deeply about each child’s development. I have seen them go above and beyond to foster each child’s unique strengths and abilities, and as a result, we’ve seen incredible growth in our children during our time at the school. Our children feel safe, nurtured, and supported, and it shows in how much they love going to school each day. I truly believe Follow the Child has instilled a love of learning in our kids that will stay with them for life. Enrolling our children in the school is one of the best decisions we’ve made as parents, and we feel grateful every day to be part of such a thoughtful, caring, and close-knit community. We could not recommend the school more!Parent Review1mo ago33 Reviews
