"I stayed with my brother in this area for 6 months it's pretty peaceful. people are safe in this neighborhood. alot of neighbors know each other. I looked for a home in the area myself but the values just went up and I could not afford it any longer. "

"It's a quiet area that has nearby grocery, convenience stores, a community library as well as the Truman Library, parks, delivery, and not far from the Stadium for football, baseball, and concerts. You also have the Independence Square with shops, bowling, theater, dining, the historical Jesse James Jail, and the Truman House among others to venture."

"it's quite and has nosie neighbors and barking dog's and coons and possums that'll work get in the trash. noisy ball park at the end of the street and homeless people sleeping in their cars at the park, neighbors that clean their truck out in the park trash cans. "

"i am possibly moving via job to indep. area, i saw the other post and disagree with the neg posting...i talked to neighbors and found they are in a neighborhood watch area, the park is about 5 min walking time, not far from shopping and gas stations....neighbors are nice and helpfull....if my job actually moves me, i will strongly consider this house if it is still there, not to mention the oversized lot it sits on......"

"I like this area, it's a great area for families as well as couples and retirees. A park nearby that's within walking distance of this particular house. The neighborhood is quiet and this home looks well built and well maintained. I read the earlier posts on here and if that person is so unhappy with the zip code area, then why would they be looking there? "

"I've lived in the area for over 40 years and the neighborhood which this house is located is a quiet and well-maintained area and is a great neighborhood for families."

"Northern Independence has changed demographics radically the last 20 years. It has become gang and crime ridden w/ the local high school--William Chrisman having now one of the worst reputations in area, rivally or surpassing that of Van Horn. I have driven through on business many times this year. Very Distressing changes."
