This school needs better teachers and needs more teachers to calm down the kids that have emotional break downs and the only like 1 teacher needs to show respect but the school Is really safe but kids in the school are bad and almost all the all the teachers are so nice and kind and help you a lot but yeah this school is very safe and has some good teachers and some good lunches and yeah this school is good

My son just started preschool at snug harbor so far seems pretty good but there's a couple things I wish they'd change. For instance, we live in houghs neck and since houghs neck doesn't have a preschool program we have to go to German town which I thought wouldn't be that hard since only 2.6 miles away. Well if your a parent that doesn't drive or have car during day like me pretty horrible. It takes a hour and half to get him to school and home, than after I get home I'm back on the bus 50 min later to go pick him back up and that's another hour and half almost 2 hours and they do not provide any transportation. Also I think for 200 a month for preschool they should have transportation or provide snack which they do neither. Last thing was they did have orientation couple days before first day where I got to briefly talk to the teachers and walk around class room but it seems like after that you have really no contact with teachers till November when parent/teacher conference. In the morning she came out took my son went right in same when picking him up barely a word, so it seems you have go out of your way to talk and see how they are doing. What I do like is teachers did seem friendly from little time I talked with them at orientation and they seem to be very organized with the children. Hopefully I can figure the transportation issue or may have to change schools I would hate to pay 200 a month for ten hour a week preschool and pay for transportation

I don't understand how they can operate like this. We were hoping for a great Islamic school but this unfortunately isn't it.

Our family has been a part of the SJS community for 7 years now. Our children love the school and are excelling. The values we teach in our home are reinforced during school. My husband and I love that the middle school students mentor the younger grades. There is a real sense of community. The children learn academics as well as great life skills they will take with them. The school is definitely a hidden gem on the South Shore.
