I’m extremely disappointed in the experience my son had at Behrman. As a parent of a child with special needs and a documented IEP, I expected more understanding and proper support. Despite providing a thorough IEP that clearly outlined the type of educational setting my son needed, the school accepted him without having the appropriate resources or environment to meet his needs.What’s even more upsetting is that after repeatedly asking staff to review his IEP, it was ignored until behavioral issues arose — and instead of working with us as a team, CPS was contacted over behavior related to his disability. That was completely unacceptable and unnecessary.This school is not equipped to handle children with special needs, and it was a huge mistake enrolling my child here. Parents of children with IEPs should be extremely cautious before choosing Behrman. I wouldn’t recommend it to any family looking for a supportive and accommodating school environment.
