"Close to the quarter for great workability, but feels just outside enough to be residential and warm. "

"Lots of dog owners who handle them responsibly plus a dog park is the good. Irresponsible and inconsiderate dog owners who go leashless is the bad."

"These are the best neighbors I’ve ever had. I’m happy to call them friends. So much great stuff is walkable or bikeable, and with a car the whole city is easily accessible. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood since 1996. It has changed a lot. Still a good neighborhood. A lot of new restaurants opening up. New neighbors moving in. Construction happening. A lot of neighborhood bars. Definitely some growth happening here in the Marigny."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree with one of the other parents.Discipline in the early grades can be confusing to young kids. My kids are taught to be respectful and well disciplined at all times. I reward them and punish them for their individual actions. Teachers here punish the entire class for 1 kids behavior. If you have a child that is well behaved, he or she may become very frustrated. We teach our kids that they will suffer for their actions, not the action of others. I also believe that recess and physical fitness play an important role in childhood development. Recess is also taken away from all kids based upon the actions of one or two kids. I think the wrong signals are being sent to our kids....No matter how you behave individually you'll still be punished for the action of others . Excellent academic programs.Parent Review15y ago2 Reviews - Bishop Perry Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to New Orleans in June of 2014 and by the time we understood the system in which you are to find your child's school, it was too late to pick anything other than KIPP NOLA. We figured, as it is a national charter, that he would be alright for a year until we could find a more suitable school for him. From the first moment the whole experience was extremely dissatisfying. He was one of only three white children in the school, which is no problem for him or us but when he was bullied for this simple fact, not much was done. He had to work it out himself with the kid that was giving him grief for simply being different. They eventually became friends but it put a bad taste in all of our mouths that we weren't supported (much less believed) with our problem. He did not participate in any field trips or even today's graduation because he hated every moment of this year. The lack of attention to class disruption was alarming and the inability to keep teacher continuity disturbing. Had we known any of this, we would have simply found a way (begged, borrowed, stole) to pay the over inflated prices of private school in this city.Parent Review11y ago4 Reviews
