"There are more dogs than children in this neighborhood. Well maintained sidewalks with lots of patches of grass. You can feel safe waking your dog 24/7 "

"Only let your children buy from cheap convenience stores. All the store here will try to scam you with over priced food."

"My commute is very brief - about 5 minutes - because I work very close by. It is also easy to bike anywhere Uptown. A lot of times, it can be just as fast to bike as it is to drive."

"A lot of traffic may scare them. However there are alot of friendly people. I am familiar with this area and driving at night to get a feel for how safe it is because my husband and I are considering moving to this area. We are searching for friendly areas that are also trendy. This area is trendy and busy but also beautiful and feels safe! "

"I have always driven to work, and have done so both up and down-town. Magazine Street is in terrible shape and has both bikers and buses trying to use it as well as auto traffic. Use Tchoupitoulas St. "

"It’s a super safe area. Really great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Friendly people. It’s also pretty clean. Quite a few options for groceries like Rouses, Whole Foods, and Walmart. I have two dogs and I walk them often times really late and feel safe. Also I live close to st Charles which has the 24 hour street car so you can easily get around "

"It’s cute and walkable. Unfortunately, you do hear a lot of road noise and bar patrons stumble down the street a lot. We pick up go cup litter a lot. We love the house, space, porch!"

"The neighborhood is dog friendly! There is a small dog park in the area. The only problem I can see is how fast people speed down Prytania street."

"I can walk to restaurants, bars, gym, doggy day care... almost anything I need or want is here. Know my neighbors well so there’s no need to worry about things happening in the neighborhood without finding out about it. "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is horrible. The girls are mean and the administration does not care about the students. I was harassed by the principal, Julie Boyd, until I left. The girls do not accept new students and hate people who are different. The culture is money, the girls will only accept you if you can afford the current designer bag or dress. Parents pay to get their children out of trouble.Student Review1y ago4 Reviews - Isidore Newman School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student who transferred in from a public New Orleans high school in the 9th grade, I can definitely say it was one of the better decisions I've made in my life. I've found that there are countless resources available and at you're disposal, the kids are not snobby like whats expected (in fact they are nicer than kids at public school and are usually very humble and respectful if they do possess lots of wealth*,) the campus is unlike any other high school I've seen, and the amount of sports and AP's they offer is a major plus. I will say that certain aspects of the student body are cliquish and you are definitely at a disadvantage if you don't live uptown/near campus. Nevertheless, I personally found a friend group that I'm content in. Also, if you don't participate in either a sport, debate, or theatre than I wouldn't come. Only downside for me are that certain teachers are not very passionate about what they are teaching nor do they care for the students. I found that many teachers are only there so they can get a discounted tuition price for their own children. Regardless, I've also had some awesome teachers so you win some you lose some. *the boys are often snobbier than the girlsStudent Review2y ago6 Reviews - Greenie House

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was an employee there for a couple of months. After I resigned and returned to my classroom to get my belongings, many of them were not there. VERY DISTURBING! Either an employee/s of that school took the items they wanted, administration discarded my items, or administration allowed others in the classroom without establishing proper protocol. It's appalling that staff members would intentionally take things that don't belong to them, yet it's just as appalling that administrators do not have a code-of-conduct in place to (hopefully) prevent such mishandlings. After making this known to administration, the lackadaisical response was "No one took any of your belongings to my knowledge." Despicable and I will pursue this! It's inexcusable!Teacher Review1y ago3 Reviews
