"It’s a city hall down the street from me and most of the time it’s packed so I guess that shows the community cares."

"Activities at the park, and basically nothing I don’t feel save in this area it’s not comfortable to me and my family "
  • Gina B.
"The city has undergone many improvements in the last few years but still has a long way to go. The Mayor has invested greatly in public spaces, infrastructure, and public safety but a lot still needs to be done about the under performing schools, lack of public transportation, and few jobs. My side of town (West side near Hammond) is mostly families and relatively safe but still poor schools, no transportation, and no jobs. Very walkable."

"There are many family’s in the neighborhood. The area is safe but I wouldn’t walk alone at night. The closest parks are big and beautiful. "

"its accessible to the metro area and the train system. Public transportation is free. Its family oriented neighborhood with plenty of schools and walking distance to laundry mat or grocery store."

"Our family has lived in this neighborhood for over 50 years. The neighborhood has took a bit of a dive and quite a few new people have moved into the area from some underprivileged areas of Chicago. Although we are dedicated to our home, if the crime rate continues to increase we may start to view other options. "

"If you want the convenience of walking one minute to be able to swim, play or watch baseball, football, soccer, ice skate, use a water park, play tennis, basketball, or use a well equipped playground, this is he ideal place for that. "
