I am a white woman, first time I ever walked into this school was to ask when registration was. I was treated nice and with respect. When I came in to registration the minute I completed the low income form for my adopted daughter who is black I was treated with a non eye contact attitude and talked to like I was a teenager. When ever I drop my child off in my old work car I get glared at and my door shut very hard. When I show up in my mothers 2020 car I get greeted with a nice "Hello!" "Have a good day!" The principal even waves me good bye. So that's is real eye opener for me. On top of that my child had a IEP and there's no real IEP plan besides treating the child as an outcast in class then sending her away at the end of the day so the special ed teacher can try and help her relearn everything and explain her assignments for 15 minutes. Bullying is out of control here and teachers turn their heads to it. Kids with learning disabilities and low income children end up having to all be friends with each other only because bullying seems to be promoted here and the kids pick out the ones with disadvantages and that's ok here and there's nothing to help promote students treating each other with equality. Lunch and recess attendants write my daughter up for not following directions and instead of telling them she has an IEP and coming up with a plan they just give her write ups.Parent Review5y agoThe GreatSchools Rating compares schools on a variety of school quality indicators including test scores, college readiness, equity and more.
