What Locals Say about Peru

  • Alison Olszewski Goode
"Schools are great! City puts on great summer camps each year. It’s fairly safe for teen/tweens to walk around to parks and school with friends."
  • Barbiebrox
"Very nice neighborhood close to everything, friendly neighbors a mix of families of all sizes. Nice tall Oaks and beautiful older homes. Mine was built in 1911."
  • Barbiebrox

"Well I moved to this neighborhood almost 6 years ago and I have to say that it is a great town to raise kids.. And the school system is wonderful.. I would love to buy a home and raise my family here til I pass.. "
  • Johnpatrick n.
"Great school systems! And I love the people out here.. I have lived here for almost 7 years and it’s a great place to raise kids"
  • kacymayday
"I have lived in the area for 5 years and I love that literally EVERYTHIMG is a short walk or drive away. It has warm small town feel with the benifit of all of the larger town and city stores, restaurants and entertainment. Great place to retire or raise a family and the cost of living is far less compared to other areas. "
  • elj61354
" I've lived in the area most of my life, hope to retire to Peru. I only wish the city fathers would take pedestrians and bicycles into account. Not many sidewalks, NO bike paths, and pets are not allowed in parks, except for the Dog Park, which is just a small fenced in area. If you want to walk to the mall or shopping area, you are putting your life in the hands of hurried drivers. It is nearly impossible to cross Rt. 251. On the good side, you could live your entire life here and never have to leave town. It really is a full service community, you just have to use your car to get around."
