3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible just because they have a new principal does not mean the new principal is gonna do his job which he doesn’t. He allows his employees to disrespect the parents of the students and all he does is say he’s gonna talk to them, but the employee still continues to be disrespectful. The children aren’t learning anything and anyone could put fake reviews of saying that the school is so great in all of that this school is a terrible school if I was able to send my son to a private school I definitely would this school needs to be closed down. The principal and the assistant principal are very disrespectful and nonchalant. They treat the parents like they’re one of the kids thinking that they can say what they wanna say to you and you’re supposed to accept it like you’re one of the students rather than a parent, you ask the teachers to let you know if your children are having a hard time to give you a call. They never call you. They rather watch your child fail and give you on the report card of failing grade rather than let you know ahead of time that hay, your child is not doing so good. You might wanna work on they don’t do that. They have fun watching a child fail rather than help a child and I have no respect for the principal nor the assistant principal because the head principal, Mr. Clouser allows, his assistant principal to yell at other parents, and when they bring it to his attention, he does nothing about it.Dekalb County is gonna always be a terrible school system. I wouldn’t recommend this school to anybody even if they stay next-door to the School.Georgia cyber Academy is the best!! it’s sad that a child can learn better from a teacher over the computer than they can from a teacher standing right in their face.. i’m so over Dekalb school system. Well, I’m looking into suing the School for all the neglect and disrespect.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - Marbut Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageII am very disappointed with the communication and support I have received regarding my children’s education. As a parent, I take my children’s schooling seriously, and it is frustrating when concerns about assignments, progress, and classroom issues are not properly addressed.I have reached out multiple times for updates and information to make sure my child was not falling behind, only to receive little to no response. However, when it came time for payments for events or classroom items, communication was suddenly quick and consistent. Communication with parents should be equally important when it comes to academics and student success.A child should not be falling behind in their strongest subjects, absent or not, when a parent is actively trying to stay involved and communicate with the teacher. If a student is advanced, reading and testing above grade level, their academic needs should still be supported appropriately. If those needs cannot be met, that should be communicated in a timely manner so additional support or a classroom change can be considered.Teachers have an important role in shaping children’s confidence and education. I believe it is important for educators to remember why they chose this profession and not allow challenges with certain students to affect how they show up for others.Families deserve professionalism, communication, accountability, and support. This school is often described as a great school for advanced students, but based on my experience, I strongly disagree.Parent Review1mo ago38 Reviews - Edward L. Bouie- Sr. Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has some wonderful teachers but the administrators are in need of some training on social-emotional development n children. If your child has any sort of ‘behaviours’ they head straight to consequences rather than exploring solutions. My son attended Kindergarten for half a year and it was an extremely stressful and unsupportive environment.Parent Review7mo ago20 Reviews - Panola Way Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school based on our experience. There has been very little homework sent home throughout the year, making it difficult for parents to stay involved in their child’s learning. Everything my child knows has been taught at home rather than reinforced through school instruction. There also seems to be a strong focus on MAP testing, but not enough consistent instruction or preparation leading up to it. It often feels like preparation is left until the last minute rather than being built into regular learning throughout the year.Parent involvement and communication from the school have also been very limited. As a parent, I do not feel adequately informed or included in my child’s academic progress. That said, there are a few staff members who are kind and helpful, including the assistant principal and some front office staff.Overall, I believe the school needs significant improvement in communication, academic consistency, and parent engagement.Parent Review2mo ago9 Reviews - Browns Mill Elementary School
