Most of the teachers here are sexist towards the girls. My son was bullied here for 3 years by girls, and the administrators did nothing about it. My other son was really advanced in his academics, so we requested him to move up a grade. He excelled on the test that was given, but the principal still denied the request. The teacher and staff here are really bad overall, and sometimes can talk about students in a "joking" way. Highly do net recommend this school. DO NOT LET THE HIGH ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE FOOL YOU.

This school is run prison-style. The kids are assigned seats everywhere they go, even at lunch. They have to be granted permission to get up to get a napkin or get up at all from their assigned table. The teachers are sub-par from our experience. 3rd grade was decent, 4th grade has been a nightmare- newer teachers that have no clue how to communicate or get organized. There was a mass exodus of teachers which is also red flag. Lastly, this school is VERY focused on academics and very strict and serious, much like the middle school it feeds, River Trail. If you want your child to have more balance and be able to have a more “normal” school life, I would not recommend this school. Also, the demographic and school focus at home is why the school ranks so high for test scores. It is not the teachers and school structure.

I would not recommend this school. They put something in my son’s permanent school record that led to him being labelled. Woodward let the Caucasian student who did the action with my son off without anything being put in his record. This labeling followed my son to Woodward Academy main campus where he was picked out by staff and put in detention for minor offenses with the same African American boy nearly every day. It caused my family and son a lot of emotional distress. It led to my son not liking this school.
