"If you have children or pets they must be careful as cars speed. Some great neighbors! Feel safe at night because of police presence when there are car break ins or burglaries. I am lucky to know and have some caring neighbors. Parking is bad when there are parties because a lot is street parking. "

"Our family has lived here for almost twenty years. We love to walk, ride bikes and enjoy Lassing Park and the many activities that take place there. Sunrises are spectacular. Our neighbors are friendly and truly care about us and the neighborhood. "

"Discovered accidently by bike 3 years ago and liked the beach feel of the area. It turns out our research shows that this area is located in a tropical micro climate near Tampa Bay which allows the growth of many species of tropical plants and trees. It is not unusual to see Royal Poinciana , Bottle and Thimble Palms,. Coconut palms, Cuban Royal Palms and African Tulip Trees do quite well along with Plumber, multi-coloured Bougainvillea, Purple Petria and dozens of variety of tropical plants flourish. The temperature on average is 5-6 degrees warmer in winter then Tampa allowing for the survival of these tropical plants during the winter cold snaps which have become increasingly frequent. The city made a lot of dead end streets to cut back on traffic and noise to upgrade the area. During the days you can hear the harbour sounds of tug boat and Coast guard vessels sound their horns from time to time giving a real "nautical feel" to the area, as though you were at a wharf.. The Salt Creek area (17th Ave South and SE, 16Ave, 15th Ave and 14th Ave East of Third Street are in the Salt Creek Marine Yacht Basin, or as the city calls it, "Sailboat Row.". Salt Creek runs under the bridge and flows into Tampa Bay. A drive down 16th Ave leads you to the Coast Guard Station with large sailboats up on dry dopck grace the Avenue, a sight to behold for sailors. The Old SE where The Yacht Basin Marine District is located is a multi-cultural area where people of all colours and creeds live in great harmony. Many educated people from all over winter there. It has been called the" Key West area of St. Petersburg", without all the annoying tourism. The area is close to the University of South Florida, Dali museum, and major theatres and only a short mile to Central Ave with its attractions. Recently the area has been discovered and homes are staring to be proudly repaired to their former glory. "
