What Locals Say about Redington Shores

  • Marie J
"Everyone in my neighborhood help each other and look out for each other. They even socialize with each other. No violence or robberies "
  • John Bayne
"Good weather and peaceful atmosphere. Very safe and lots of police driving around. Beach is nice and not crowded "
  • Gary.T.Ridenour
"This is both a residential community, primarily condominiums, and a vacation destination area. Lots of what I’d call Mom & Pop motel ops, & larger. No major hotels. Heavily traveled Gulf Blvd splits the community, thus awareness of traffic dangers is advised - use designated crossing points. Bus service is very convenient to Clearwater Beach to the north and St. Pete Beach to the south, with connecting routes. There’s a prominent ‘air of energy’ & activity. There are several small subdivision types areas, but quite expensive with older folks - few children. "
  • Gary.T.Ridenour
"Dog walking is more or less limited to sidewalks along a very, very busy street. There are a few nice residential areas, but sidewalk travel to them is required. The upside, most folks are very friendly to the dogs, and will asked to pet. "

"I purchased our family’s beachfront condo at Redington Shores. Been coming here for thirty years. Local restaurants are great fun, the people are nice, laid back, the beach and sunsets are beyond gorgeous. Too bad the Pier has fallen into disrepair. Hopefully the State will step in and fix it. Love it...stay away..hahaha."

"New to neighborhood but love the area! Neighbors are very friendly. Beach is steps away and restaurants and shops are within walking distance."
  • Rob G.
"Beach community surrounded by water on finger inlets. Sea, sand and sun! The best of all worlds. Wouldn’t live anywhere else. "
  • shumai61
"Not just for retirees, but for anyone that loves nature and lots of sunny days. This town is one of a string of towns along the Gulf of Mexico in Pinellas county FL. It is mainly residential (no annoying touristy attractions to deal with), but with terrific public access to the Gulf for swimming, fishing and sunning. Some great little restaurants can be found along Gulf Blvd (recently re-paved), as well as the occasional coffee shop and convenience store. Publix supermarkets (the best markets in the nation, in my opinion), Walgreens, CVS, etc are only a 5 minute drive over the inter coastal bridge. Although you can easily walk along Gulf Blvd's long stretch of sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks, most "big box" stores can only be reached by car. "

"Nice quiet friendly neighborhood with play parks for the kids, Great breakfast and waterfront restaurants nearby, shopping, walk to the beach, go boating right from your back yard!"
  • jcurwick
"I have lived in the Redingtons for over 20 years. There truly is no better place to raise your children, or to own a waterfront home! Community involvement, parks, recreation, restaurants, walk to beach, good schools, and very safe. "
