When we first started exploring schools, we were seeking a place where our oldest son could be truly seen, understood, and supported for who he is. We were concerned that a traditional model might be quick to label him, and that he could eventually get lost in the system. Finding Fraser Woods felt like everything we had been hoping for.The Montessori approach to learning encourages independence, curiosity, and confidence in a way that feels natural and thoughtful and doesn’t have inappropriate expectations for young children to sit still in a desk for extended periods of time. The teachers sincerely know and love each child and meet them where they are, helping them grow both academically and personally. Both our son and daughter feel genuinely welcomed and known, and that sense of comfort and belonging is something you can feel right away. While some of our son’s challenges have not simply disappeared, we feel completely confident, through the level of care and excellent communication from his teachers, that he is happy, supported, and exactly where he is meant to be.I would be remiss not to mention the enrichment programs, which are clearly designed with care and intention. From both performing and classical arts, maker space and Spanish, they give the children meaningful opportunities to explore, create, and express themselves in ways that feel both engaging and purposeful. It is amazing to see what these young minds can create when you allow them to! Beyond the classroom, the community is warm, welcoming, and inclusive, filled with families and educators who genuinely care about raising kind and thoughtful humans. We currently have two children attending Fraser Woods and plan to send our younger two as well, which speaks volumes about how strongly we feel about the school. We feel incredibly grateful to be part of the FWM community, it has been worth every penny. It has been such a meaningful experience for our family and a place that feels profoundly special, we hope to be here for many years to come!
