My child has a new disability and nobody cared. The staff sort of knew, but never set up any meeting with teachers. Six fights in year! The students rule the teachers! Would not recommend honestly.

My children have had a great experience at FAME. We value that the school offers bilingual / biliterate teaching in English and Spanish starting in kindergarten. This past year they added Arabic for upper grades. The teachers are supportive and effective. There is a weekly event for parents to meet at the school called “Good Morning FAME.”

I’m a current student at Nathan Hale school in 7th grade. I joined the school in 5th grade, before that I was attending a catholic school in Branford. I had a few bad experiences at my old school which led to me switching here. In my past three years of being at this school, I’ve not learned a single new piece of information that I have not learned. In all I would not recommend unless your child is severely behind and wants to stay behind.

I’m writing this as a former student who attended Ross/Woodward from out of town to urge families to be cautious when considering this school.My experience was very difficult. For two full years, we did not have a consistent math teacher, which forced my family to pay for an expensive tutor so I wouldn’t fall behind. Academically, the school struggled to deliver a strong education.Beyond that, the school environment was challenging. There was frequent bullying, racism, and rude behavior among students. Fights were common, and an “urban/street culture” often took priority over learning. As a girl who values peace, I felt unsafe on multiple occasions.One incident stands out: when a boy tried to fight me, I went to the principal for help because I was scared. Instead of addressing the situation, I was dismissed from the office and sent back to class with the same student. This left me feeling unprotected and unheard.Safety, academics, and student culture are serious concerns here. I strongly advise parents and students to research carefully and consider other options. My time at Ross/Woodward was not a positive one, and I hope others can avoid similar struggles.
