"There are some transient and gang activity, like any city. But in general it’s a great area and there’s an actual sense of community here. There’s a reason why people stay."

"A lot of people have dogs that bark a lot. Keep small dogs indoors because of raccoons or coyotes. But there’s good dog parks. A lot of safe space to walk "

"Schools need a lot of work. Cars drive too fast and the area has a lot of businesses across from houses so a lot of traffic and it makes it hard to get into our driveway. Convenience of having a lot of stores nearby. "

"I grew up here and it’s common knowledge that the best public schools consist of Murphy Ranch (elementary), Granada (junior high), and La Serna (high school). They test better, provide more opportunities, and are just an overall better environment."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHello, I'm a Carden alum here now in my late twenties. How wonderful it is to stumble on this resource! Years later, I am living in New York City, having gone to a college that parents are proud of, and I am very happy with how things turned out – not just for how it looks from the outside, but how I feel inside. Here are my thoughts on having gone to Carden: -Carden awarded me some unique talents: beautiful cursive handwriting, unshakeable knowledge in writing and grammar, and fluency in the arts, albeit some of it in bad, puritanical taste. -Carden's teachers are nice and dedicated. Sure, there's always a bad egg in there – a mean old lady who resents the children more than she loves them. Leadership is alright, if a little paranoid. -You will read, and perform plays, and learn French for god's sake! It's an impressive thing to be able to say what "horse" in French is, in a split second! I am endlessly grateful I write in archaic cursive handwriting because this school would threaten to throw out your paper after the first grade if you wrote in print. My handwriting is a relic already now, but imagine when I am older? Sincerely – amazing, Carden. -I see Carden as a school that teaches kids to be themselves. Science, math, the arts, language, you have it – the school had a place for almost all kids.Other Review6y ago31 Reviews - Faith Lutheran Church & School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter graduated from this school and I was satisfied with the foundation which was instilled in her. I am appalled by the negative comments I have read about the principal. She is a true pillar of leadership and inspiration, whose dedication to excellence has transformed the school into a vibrant, inclusive and thriving community. The vision for academic achievement is evident in every hallway, classroom and school event. Thanks to the commitment and compassionate leadership, the school stands not only as a center of learning, but as a place where every individual is seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. Take a tour of the school and experience firsthand the warmth, excellence, and vibrant community the school offers.Parent Review9mo ago42 Reviews - Whittier Montessori School
