"I grew up on park st. I lived there for 19 years and my parents are there still. It is a decent area. But in the past 5 years or so home invasions and burglaries have risen in number dramatically in the neighborhood. I wouldn't raise my two children there as it is not as family friendly as it once was. Neighbors are very un-involved in the community. When I was growing up the neighborhood was very close and friendly with each other. Overall, I would choose a higher quality Whittier neighborhood. I love Whittier as a whole. But crime is rising in some areas of the city and that weighs heavily on my heart since I would no longer choose to live on Park street. "
