4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSaroyan Elementary suffers from lack of good leadership. There doesn't seem to be enthusiasm from the staff which is disappointing considering it is an elementary school and the kids thrive off of positivity. The school overall provides the bare minimum,Parent Review9mo ago5 Reviews - John Steinbeck Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, this school has a lazy arrogant principal and teachers. The teacher and principal didn’t offer emotional support to my autistic child. To the contrary, they took my autistic child behavior as a rebellion against them. They cut my child school hours and leave my child without her recess or break to go outside to play with the other kids in the playground. My ideas on regard to my child were thrown away, were disregarded, and against my will, I felt forced to accept their will. I witnessed with my child and with other students the beater, cold, and rude approach from teachers to the kids but as soon as they see the parents teachers put on a smile. I felt that they treat children as if they were a burden for the teachers and the principal will fight hard not for you or your child but for her bad teachers. In addition, the belongings of my child were always going missing. I took my child out from this horrible school.Parent Review1mo ago7 Reviews - Herndon-Barstow Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagepathetic. they invited our school kids to perform for their event, insulted & humiliated us instead of handling the issue calmly made a ruckus out of it. Teachers are not well behaved & ill mannered, don't know how to talk. I would never recommend a school where teachers are pathetic.Parent Review6y ago7 Reviews - Teague Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent/stepparent of a student at this school, I am deeply disappointed and concerned about how bullying and student safety are handled. My child has been involved in repeated incidents with the same group of students, yet meaningful action has not been taken to protect him or prevent future problems. Despite being told that certain students were supposed to be kept separated, this has clearly not been enforced. In the most recent incident, my child was physically kicked repeatedly on the playground before defending himself. Afterward, the way the situation was handled in the office was disturbing. My child was made to sit with his head down while the other student was treated more favorably. He was even threatened afterward — in the office — and staff allegedly expressed being “on the other child’s side.”This school claims to have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, but in reality there appears to be little accountability, little discipline, and poor follow-through. We have also seen a troubling pattern of our child being singled out by certain staff members, even being questioned about incidents on days he was not present.Communication has also been poor. Parents were not notified promptly, and important information had to be chased down.I want to trust that my child is safe at school. Right now, I don’t. The lack of supervision, inconsistent discipline, and apparent bias from some staff members have seriously shaken our confidence in this school and the district.Until student safety, fairness, and accountability are treated as priorities — not just talking points — I cannot recommend this school to other families.Parent Review3mo ago6 Reviews - Harvest Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school may appear nice and family friendly, though my daughter has faced none of this. A boy hit her in the face with a rock, after attempting to hit her several times. After she told an adult, the adult sided with the boy, and didn’t even contact me. The boy broke her glasses ($170) and left a faint scratch to the face. When I contacted the teacher in charge she went on to say there was no punishment nor out time she could give the boy. The following year she got stung by a bee. The nurse kept her in the office for an hour, with her only request to call her mom. Which the nurse didn’t contact me at all, instead blamed her “work stress” on it. While my daughter was crying her eyes out, that woman paid no thought to her whatsoever. I hope anyone reading this takes it in with an open mind, and also look at other schools around the area. Now that my daughter graduated 2 years ago, I thought I could finally share her story without embarrassing her. I have never heard a word of her doing poorly, or making wrong decisions at her current school. Do better HarvestParent Review1mo ago8 Reviews
