Brookhurst

I am an alumni of this school and will be keeping when i graduated hidden.I remember every year of my time here and its a mix of pleasant and unpleasant moments. As a child, you cannot defend yourself properly against teachers even if lies were said by other students. Their say was always final. Administration will always take the side of the teacher. There is blatant favoritism. If your teacher disliked you, they disliked you for the entire year. They will mark harsher than others if they dislike you. I have been placed in detention multiple times for things that other students could do but i could not (picking up a ball that went into the forest, name calling). During a few detentions, there's been many times i was left in the VP/P's office while they ate lunch or weren't in the room. I still remember the shape of that office and the windows in the corner looking out to the entrance. There is nearly nothing to prevent bullying. They will not take the side of the victim and/or both parties get punished.Lower year teachers were decent. My favorite being Grade 2 and having access to the outdoor space. Upper year teachers were harsher. You find out immediately during the transition from elementary to high school that the teachers here were ruder. Thankfully, the experience i had with this school did not hinder any aspect of my future life; making moving past this school easy. I would not recommend this school.
