My son attended Jones Elementary. It works hard to meet academic needs of all students.

I attended this elementary school from 2014-2019 and I must say it was one of the worst experiences of my entire childhood. I was bullied every single year i attended this school, with nothing done to help. instead of helping me, my bullies were rewarded for treating me how they did. It got to the point where even teachers started to bully me as well, and it got to a point of me versus everybody else. There was absolutely nothing that could’ve been done. on top of that; after not caring about my bullying, they decided to bring in a counselor to start an “art class“ (which you would think would be normal) except for the fact that they were fishing to try to get kids taken away from their parents, Which also happened to me. I’m not saying that this has happened to everybody, but what I am saying is that that is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a school district.

The first day my child started as a transfer in October she was made to feel like a burden. The vice principal was rude to her when she was shy. The teacher was rude when I met her. My child made complaints of strange behavior and rude remarks toward the children. My child was bullied daily by the teacher and students. My child was singled out to not participate in a Christmas party because she hadn't been there long enough to meet the teachers requirements for reading points. The teacher made her cut a strap off her boot, ruining them, so she wasnt noisy in class. I transferred her out after Christmas break due to the unfriendly and outrageous rude behavior of the teachers, staff, and children at this school! Her first day back at her old school everyone was excited to have her back, gave her plenty of hugs and love. She refers to Eastside as the "bully school."

I really like the academics side of this school but think that their community/parents relationship could be improved, which would totally out them at a 5.

My children attended this school while in K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. Their teachers and the staff seemed to enjoy what they do and enjoy the kids. One child had speech therapry, the other had a special ed class to improve reading. I felt both learning plans were well thought out and very helpful considering the improvement made in my kids. Conferences were very insightful and weekly notes helped me know what to work on at home, or how my child behaved that week. One teacher would even email me when my son had an especially good day because she wanted me to know how proud she was of him! I had to choose this school because I was in it's zone, but I am so happy to have such a great school that my kids enjoyed attending.
