7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe vibes are very tense. Teachers are awesome, for the most part, def a few bad apples xD. Some of the other students give me the major creeps, which makes the school environment much less dope. History teachers unfortunately love dad jokes :/ Overall pretty good experience, classes are pretty easy but also challenging you in the way they should. Students are very cliquey, no one seems to branch out it's kinda like High School Musical. People actually dance on the tables at lunch too, but more like the dance in "Saturday Nights Alright" in Rocketman, where you think they're dancing but they're actually just fighting. Multiple times we've been leaving school and gotten stuck behind a fight.Student Review4y ago4 Reviews - Twenhofel Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current student at this school, and this school is amazing! The teachers here are always concerned about students performance, absences, and safety, and always motivate us to learn and grow more. They explain topics in a fun, engaging way, making it easier for us to learn new things and to do better on Formative Assessments and state testing. We also have firm expectations, from proper dress codes to a cell phone policy to keep every individual safe. At our school, we always take bullying and harsh statements seriously. The principals and the counselors are excellent, and they will always provide help when needed. We are always reminded about fire, earthquake, tornado, and violent individual drills so that we will always stay safe. There are plenty of cameras throughout the building that the office watches at all times. Buses also have security cameras inside to monitor students. There are also cameras in science classrooms due to experiments that happen throughout the year.*The amount of homework at this school is decent and tolerable. Many teachers at this school say that there will be days where he/she will hand out homework, but just as long as you get your work done on time, you will not have anything to do that night.*Overall, this school has given and will continue to give me the best experience from support, motivation, and academic excellence. I highly recommend this school.Student Review3y ago5 Reviews - White's Tower Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can't find anything negative to say about White's Tower; my daughter loves going to school everyday. When my daughter (and other students) was deemed an advantaged student, the guidance counselor and her teacher met with me to have a conversation about skipping a grade or accelerating her education with the next year's coursework. My daughter and many other students were on the new cusp of Kindergarten cutoffs. This school hired a teacher with a Master's in Gifted Education to accommodate them! I didn't think I would be worrying about college so soon but my daughter wants to be a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon now! There's a reason White's Tower Elementary is the highest rated elementary school in the district (and third in all Northern Kentucky counties). It's also pretty cool that Mr. P. cares so much about his students, his faculty and the families involved.Parent Review6y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near Unit.

"They would like that there’s lots of places to walk your dog. The yards are also quite large which makes it a great place for the dogs to be."

"Quite a bit of traffic on 3L every morning. Commute takes about 20 minutes to Erlanger. Depending on whatever time to leave it could take longer. "

"Not all neighborhoods have sidewalks for walking and not a lot of trash receptacles for poo. Also see people have dogs in their yard off the leash. So that can be a little scary depending on the dog’s behavior. "

"It's a beautiful area and well maintained. You are "in the city" but get that "countryside" feel. I feel super safe here and it's a great place to raise a family. Everything you need is nearby but without all the hustle & bustle and without so much crime. I do wish that there were a few more time windows for bus transit's BUT the upside of there not being a constant line of buses is that it is what helps the city be so safe in MY OPINION. Independence is a fabulous place to call home."

"It’s a really safe neighborhood for kids to play in their yards and take walks around the neighborhoods where I live. I am a young adult and I often take night walks around the neighborhood and I have never once felt unsafe. The people are always friendly though people tend to keep to themselves. "

"Independence is a great suburban area for raising a family but there’s not much of a night life here there aren’t many nice restaurants and all the homes are the same and value design over uniqueness and functionality but you are next to good school districts and stores"

"No there’s not much to say about independence it’s a lovely little town for the right type of people. Someone who wants to settle down and wants to experience all four seasons. That being said there’s not many unique homes out here there all cookies cutter homes that focus on design instead of quality functionality and uniqueness. Altogether it’s a neighbor hood for a certain type of buyer there’s a lot of Restaurants and schools."

"People have a lot of dogs and take care of them. You rarely see a stray and if a dog gets loose everyone is willing to help get them back to their home. Not ideal if you don’t like barking because there are a lot of dogs. 😂"
