  • Kathy Kampsen
"I have lived in Independence for over 27 years. This is where my kids have been raised and now my grandchildren, it’s safe, clean and makes you feel home! "
  • Susan Neltner
"There are Events but I’ve only went to two of them. Independence is a very nice and country friendly place to live "
  • Travis G.
"Liver herr my whole life. Best city in Kentucky . Plenty of schools around. Local festivals. One of the biggest Kroger’s in the state in the center of town "
  • Srhodes3577
"They would like that there’s lots of places to walk your dog. The yards are also quite large which makes it a great place for the dogs to be."
  • Kcdut
"Quite a bit of traffic on 3L every morning. Commute takes about 20 minutes to Erlanger. Depending on whatever time to leave it could take longer. "
  • Christina C.
"Not all neighborhoods have sidewalks for walking and not a lot of trash receptacles for poo. Also see people have dogs in their yard off the leash. So that can be a little scary depending on the dog’s behavior. "
  • Brittney N.
"It's a beautiful area and well maintained. You are "in the city" but get that "countryside" feel. I feel super safe here and it's a great place to raise a family. Everything you need is nearby but without all the hustle & bustle and without so much crime. I do wish that there were a few more time windows for bus transit's BUT the upside of there not being a constant line of buses is that it is what helps the city be so safe in MY OPINION. Independence is a fabulous place to call home."
  • Tess V.
"It’s a really safe neighborhood for kids to play in their yards and take walks around the neighborhoods where I live. I am a young adult and I often take night walks around the neighborhood and I have never once felt unsafe. The people are always friendly though people tend to keep to themselves. "
  • Stacie
"Great family and budget friendly neighborhood. Safe and schools aren’t bad. Would definitely recommended living here if you’re ready for a country neighborhood "
  • Scott041680
"Independence is a great suburban area for raising a family but there’s not much of a night life here there aren’t many nice restaurants and all the homes are the same and value design over uniqueness and functionality but you are next to good school districts and stores"
  • Scott041680
"No there’s not much to say about independence it’s a lovely little town for the right type of people. Someone who wants to settle down and wants to experience all four seasons. That being said there’s not many unique homes out here there all cookies cutter homes that focus on design instead of quality functionality and uniqueness. Altogether it’s a neighbor hood for a certain type of buyer there’s a lot of Restaurants and schools."
  • Kcdut
"FAIRLY EASY WHEN THERES NOT ALOT OF TRAFFIC. 3L HWY IS ALWAYS UNPREDICTABLE WITH TRAFFIC FLOW THOUGH!! "
  • Caz S.
"I drive to work and there is rarely ever any congested traffic areas. The biggest issue is deer but there’s not much you can do with that."
  • Kippyfer
"people walk their dogs in our neighborhood all the time. very pet friendly. I feel every one genuinely cares about their dogs and takes the time to spend time with their dogs."

"I’m retired so I no longer commute, independence has KY 17=which gives it good access to I275. I75/I71 is easy to access via KY 16."
  • Jessica H
"I grew up here and love living here. I do not plan on leaving Independence. Great place to raise a family. "
  • Christina C.
"People have a lot of dogs and take care of them. You rarely see a stray and if a dog gets loose everyone is willing to help get them back to their home. Not ideal if you don’t like barking because there are a lot of dogs. 😂"
  • Coppydogg
"I’ve lived here for 6+ years.. it’s a friendly area and people look out for one another. Well mixed with older and newer homes"
  • Gabbard35

"Very busy, a lot of red lights. Not a lot of people know right of way laws. Makes things very frustrating "
  • Gabbyp2014
"I don’t really like the area... and I’m trying to move to a place with more restaurants. There simply aren’t enough places to eat or quick access to the interstate "
  • Katmaxwell40
