9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is run prison-style. The kids are assigned seats everywhere they go, even at lunch. They have to be granted permission to get up to get a napkin or get up at all from their assigned table. The teachers are sub-par from our experience. 3rd grade was decent, 4th grade has been a nightmare- newer teachers that have no clue how to communicate or get organized. There was a mass exodus of teachers which is also red flag. Lastly, this school is VERY focused on academics and very strict and serious, much like the middle school it feeds, River Trail. If you want your child to have more balance and be able to have a more “normal” school life, I would not recommend this school. Also, the demographic and school focus at home is why the school ranks so high for test scores. It is not the teachers and school structure.Parent Review3y ago12 Reviews - River Trail Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers my son has had are excellent, but the overall environment is unnecessarily rigid and heavily academic. Students have assigned seats at lunch and even when entering the building while waiting for the bell to ring. They are not allowed to choose where to sit or talk freely with friends, which creates a very controlled atmosphere. Many students refer to it as “River Jail.” This school is best suited for highly academic, self-motivated students, especially those in TAG. Students who are not top achievers tend to be overlooked. Homework is heavy (1.5–3 hours nightly) with a strong focus on standardized test prep. With late dismissal and bus rides, kids don’t get home until around 4:45 p.m., leaving little time for activities or downtime before starting more work. Support is limited/ineffective, and burnout is a real concern—my child is already exhausted, and he’s not even in high school yet. There are limited non-academic extracurricular options, no school dances, and low sports participation (6th graders cannot participate). For some students, this structured, high-pressure environment may be a good fit, but it has not been a positive experience for my child.Parent Review2mo ago23 Reviews - Northview High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei’ve been going to Northview for only half of a school year and this is the absolute worst school i’ve ever been to. Students are mean and problematic, the teachers don’t like doing their job, and it’s so draining. Students harass people at this school and drama and stress as well as academic pressure is inevitable. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!!!!!Student Review3mo ago27 Reviews - Check other nearby schools

"It’s a super safe area! I went to high school here and walked every where. A lot more people live here now compared to when I was in high school so that equals more cars on the road but it’s still as safe as it’s ever been! "

"I have lived in this area for more than five years, my parents have been living here for more than 15 years. It is one of the best areas to live in - although, over priced in comparison to how you feel about this town - not all communities are equal - some are mediocre, some middle of the road, some are affluent and beautiful- there are some which are ridiculously priced for what they offer 👎🏼"
