5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOmg where do I start, first of all they continuously pressure you to put your child on medication like Adderall and Ritalin at the age of six simply because they will not sit still for 8 hours. Then you reach out to them and say that you're handicap and it is extremely difficult for you to get your children back and forth to school without transportation so what do they do they say they can't help you and they ask you to pick up another kid and take them home on your way. Then because you're handicap and not able to get your kids to school like you told them they hit you with truancy even though you sent in doctor's excuses. This school is very predatory against parents they do not care what you have to say they do not listen to any of your concerns or needs you are the bad guy and you always will be in their eyes. Ever since my kids have started going here it has been a nightmare "DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KIDS AT CONCORD ELEMENTARY IT WILL BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES THAT YOU HAVE MADE."Parent Review2y ago10 Reviews - Pittsburgh Carrick High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a review from someone who is not from the area. We relocated to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago so we we're not familiar with the area or the schools around us, and I always take reviews with a grain of salt. We are on the border between Brentwood & Carrick and were unsure what school my daughter would end up at, but lets be honest, we were hoping for Brentwood because.. reviews. Hate to say that but like I said, I didn't have any understanding of the area all that much and the move happened fast. But my daughter is now in her second year and it's really unfortunate that this school gets so much hate because coming in from a whole different state was stressful enough for her but there's been nothing but good support for her from admin and her classmates. I'm not familiar with anything going on there that would warrant such a bad review. My wife is more active with her activities than I but no red flags have ever come up. Her grades are consistently well, and there's been more than enough opportunities for her to get more help when she needed it. We're always in the know about what's going on.. sometimes a little TOO much with the emails but I think that's a minor nuisance and not even that big of a deal.I hope parents will do their homework when it comes to their kids education. It's easy to rely on a few bad reviews or get fixated on external things. I'll leave my review up until something changes.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Pittsburgh Allegheny 6-8

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has put me in the lowest state I have ever been in. There are very little teachers who actually know how to manage a class and bullying was never handled correctly. I’ve been so drained here despite the fact that there is no good education to get out of this. I had also gone through something a few months ago that had a terrible impact on me mentally. I did not have the support I needed from the school and it got to the point where ADMINISTRATION was needed because nobody could take any action. It was as if they were “clueless” In fact, the people around me turned my situation into a joke, they laughed at me and mocked me as if I wasn’t a real person who had unexpectedly experienced this. I had never felt so defenseless in my life. It took forever for me to get any justice and when I got that I still felt unsafe and stressed. I also feel awful for the few people who work here who actually put EFFORT INTO THEIR JOB, just to get disrespected constantly. It’s shocking that they still even want to work here and put up with this job because I definitely would not. Anyway, this school is horrible. Do not send your kid here under any circumstances unless you don’t care about their mental or physical health. If I had to point out one really tiny positive, I made a few cool friends, but the key word is few because it’s very rare. I am grateful for them though. Worst three years of my life.Student Review4w ago6 Reviews - Pittsburgh Dilworth K-5

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is phenomenal. We are so fortunate to go here. Our daughter loves school, has made wonderful friends. From the first week the teachers all seem to know every child by name. Students are greeted each morning with an all-school assembly with drumming, singing, a welcome message by the Principal, and the school rock band rocking out. Its a fantastic way to start the day! There are tons of field trips, lots of art and music incorporated into each day. We love it here!Parent Review8y ago5 Reviews - Pittsburgh Science And Technology Academy 6-12

"I love this area. Its a pleasant mixture of an urban area blended together with a suburban area. Brownsville Rd is right there with many shops and other things to do. For city lovers (I'm originally from NYC) you have some urban noises and activity that will make you feel at home, but its not excessive. You can go weeks without hearing sirens! At night the neighborhood sleeps. I regularly see deer roaming on my block at 2am. I hear crickets during the summer, and we can even see stars when the night is clear. "

"It's generally safe for kids. There are a bunch of parks in Carrick. On some of the main roads the people drive fast. The small blocks and dead ends are really quiet. "

"Lots of space to walk dogs, most of us have them. People around here clean up after their pets while out on walks, so you rarely have to worry about stepping in dog feces or having someone walking their dog into your yard."
