2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school allowed my son to be bullied for years. The bully would continously attack my child, openly and would verbally threaten to end his life and still the school gave no consequences to that student and did the bare minimum to help my child feel safe. This school is very unorganized and the principal made promises to my child that she couldn't keep like seating accomodations to help my child feel safe and away from the bully. They have not shown they care for my child nor his mental health. Everyone acknowledges that my child isn't the issue, the bully openly does it and ultimately nothing is done.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - Ps 121 Throop

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Throop from K-5, and graduated in 2020. I felt that she had received a well-rounded education from Throop. All her teachers were friendly, kind, and respectful. My daughter is currently in grade 8 and she still remembers all her teachers from Throop. After Throop, My daughter attended the Honors program at MS 181 for one year until she got accepted at Hunter College High School starting at grade 7. She is almost done with grade 8 and she is doing exceptionally well at Hunter. I feel her continued success can be partly attributed to the foundation she received at Throop. So, if any teachers at Throop are reading this, Thank you. Your efforts continue to bear fruits even years after your kids leave you.Parent Review3y ago10 Reviews - Jhs 144 Michelangelo

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a beautiful place for children the staffs are very supportive they show interest in the children's wellbeing they also get involve in the children's active learning and get to know your children on a one on one level and i think this is just awesome. the school is like a second family to the children the surroundings and school grounds are generally safe school is never loud of rowdy my child feels safe here no bullies school is very clean and very well kept i honestly wish my child could stay here if they had a high school however they only go up to 8th grade. my child have improved tremendously academically since he started this school in September 2024.Parent Review8mo ago22 Reviews - Pelham Gardens Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe’ve had such a positive experience with this middle school and I truly cannot say enough about the level of care and commitment from the staff. The teachers are incredible. They are not just teaching, they really show up as partners to parents. They advocate for their students, communicate openly, and go above and beyond in ways that do not go unnoticed. It is clear they genuinely care about each child and want them to succeed.I also want to call out the SBO, who provides year round resources and events that uplift the students, support engagement, and really help build a strong sense of community. What stands out most is how much this school truly cares about its students. You can feel it in the way they support the kids and the families. We feel really grateful to be part of this community.Parent Review2mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near Arnow Ave.

"a lot of dog owners in this area, Perlman parkway is nearby where they can go for a nice long walk or let them run on the grass. Dog owners around the area are also pretty responsible, I've never had to pick up after anyone's dog in front of my house. "

"It has its good areas and bad area. The closer you are the William ridge road the nicer. The further down away you are from Williams ridge road the worse it gets. "

"Lots of cats, sometimes there are raccoons, the neighborhood feels pretty safe, but surrounding pelham gardens isnt the best area so I would keep that in mind. Not many kids to play with at all. Most people who live here are older upper middle class."
