This cozy & inviting space is located only minutes walk from some of the best cafes in town, and a short stroll can take you into the heart of neighborhoods such as Shaw, H Street, and more!

The Space:
Located all within 10-15 minutes walk are: Union Market, NoMA, the brand new Tanner Park connecting to the MBT, and the NoMA (Red line) Metro subway being easily accessible and can bring you through the heart of downtown DC to Bethesda or Silver Spring, Union Station, and beyond; and where The Capitol Building and the start of the National Mall and museums are only a 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk south.

And there is no shortage of amazing restaurants in Bloomingdale, Shaw, LeDroit Park, and the U street corridor. Not to mention, there are scooters everywhere and 2 Capital City bike-shares within a 2-block walk.

The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and offers plenty of closet space as well.

The living area is equipped with a smart Roku-enabled TV where you can stream all your favorite shows and flicks as you wish on Netflix, Hulu, or the like. Here also is the dining table that can double as a desk perfect for both business or leisure, responding to emails or reading up about the next place you will visit during your stay!

The kitchen is fully-equipped, and complimentary tea & coffee always provided for your enjoyment. A washer and dryer is also available in the home for your laundering convenience.

So, whether you're in DC for touring, work, experiencing the local city life or relaxing -- this space is perfect for you!

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire lower level 1-bedroom private apartment, with its own private entrance.

The Neighborhood:
Our home is in Eckington, a historical neighborhood hidden in the middle of all the up-and-coming spots in the city. A 15-20 minute stroll can take you into the heart of neighborhoods such as Shaw, H Street, or Union Market. Blocks away are 3 great cafes, Creative Grounds, Sylvan or Big Bear Cafe in Bloomingdale: go to each for coffee or a snack and relax in the outdoor patios as available with locals.

There is also a Farmer's Market there every Sunday from 9am to 1pm. Other nearby neighborhood spots are The Pub & The People, Showtime (which has the best jukebox in the city), Boundary Stone, Red Hen, and DCity Smokehouse where you'll find some of the best BBQ in DC (try the brisket and pulled pork!) only blocks from the home.

Getting Around:
NoMA Metro subway on the Red Line is about 10-minutes walk away.

Bus stops on North Capitol down the block.

Capital Bikeshare on R & North Capitol Streets NE or Lincoln Rd & S Streets.

There are also Lime, Bird, and Uber JUMP scooters and bikes around everywhere for individual rental using your smartphone.

Other Things to Note:
We are longtime DC residents who love to go out, so are happy to share our recommendations! Some of our favorites - lunch at Union Market; hanging out at the new Line hotel in DC; Maketto, Sally's Middle Name, CopyCat Co on H St; All Purpose Pizzeria, Convivial, The Dabney, SUNdeVICH in Shaw; and walking around on 14th St.

Please be reminded of the Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am

"Excellent location for getting to all quadrants within 20 minutes or less. Convenient to bus, metro rail, car share, bike share, you name it, it can be found here. Service is also readily available at all hours here unlike some communities that become a ghost town after 9pm. "

  • Andy M.
"Eckington is among the many up and coming areas in DC. Eckington is unique because it has corners reaching each general city setting with commerce, warehouses, housing, and metro stations that run right through it. What makes it stand out is that it maintains a neighborhood feel without jeopardizing the city aspect of DC life."
  • Andy M.
"Easy commute -- it's within 15 min of virtually any destination in DC. I always take advantage of the metro station or super affordable ride sharing services. Although buses do run throughout the neighborhood, I have never used it."

"I have lived in Eckington for 4 years now and have send a wonderful transition of real estate improvements, great neighbors and huge reduction in crime , littering and vagrancy. What a wonderful change from the hard hit community of the 90's. Close to a thriving NoMA, H St. and U St. entertainment corridors!"
