Description

Short-term furnished rental in the beautiful Catalina Foothills, available until the end of October, possibly November.

Soak up the Arizona sun by day, then watch the sun set and the city lights come up while grilling on your private patio by night, in this airy gem of a home overlooking Tucson (and above the pollution line).

This is a comfortable, fully-furnished townhome, full of lovely light yet shaded from the hot sun. It boasts dark wood floors, a very large dining table, comfortable couches, and fast wifi. And because I'm chemically sensitive, it is largely scent-, perfume-, and chemical-free (which I will ask you to help me maintain during your tenancy).

My home is situation in a quiet neighborhood with very friendly neighbors, access to 2 community pools, and a short walk from the iconic DeGrazia Gallery.

Walk or drive (as little as 3 minutes) to a range of restaurants from breakfast nooks to top-rated Italian and Mexican restaurants and bars; 5 minutes to Finger Rock Trailhead; 10 minutes from 3 of the city's top golf courses; 10 minutes to hiking in the renowned Sabino Canyon. Within half an hour you can easily access almost all the cultural events and outdoor activities that Tucson has to offer, and the Mexican border is just 1.5 hours south, with all that lovely country has to offer (including high-quality, low-cost dentistry). Plus the community itself has a network of walking trails in the surrounding washes that you can access by walking out your front door if you just need a break from the computer.

Inside the house, there are many pluses to make your stay more comfortable, as I leave this outfitted largely as it is when I'm here in the winter. All you need are your clothes and personal items.

You'll have access to my very comfortable, recently-renovated front room and bathroom, with views of the Catalina Mountains, specifically Finger Rock. Only my room will be off-limits.

You will pay for your own utilities (est $20-$90 elec depending on use; $40 wifi, $68.40 water & sewer) plus monthly cleaner $75.

I do not allow smoking -- of anything -- in or near my home, and because of my chemical sensitivity will ask that you not use strong perfumes which will soak into mattresses, bedding, and cushions, nor plug-ins, nor toxic cleaners. My cleaner (who understands my preferences) will come in monthly while you are here. I will also ask that you take your shoes off inside to protect my wood floors, and I do not allow pets or weapons in my home. Thank you for respecting my preferences.

Until end October, possibly a month longer.
Fully (and very comfortably) furnished.
No pets (easily-scratched wood floor).
First and last month's rent as well as security deposit must be paid up front.
I pay HOA fees. Renter pays their own utilities (est $20-$90 elec depending on use; $40 wifi, $68.40 water & sewer), monthly cleaner $75.
Non-smokers only, and because I'm chemically-sensitive, I will ask that you be willing to be perfume- and chemical-free while here.
1-car garage parking with direct access into the house.
I do not allow weapons in my home.

  • Sparkle12
"Warmest neighborhood in Tucson. Retirees, young families, I’ve never know anyone who lived here and didn’t love the neighborhood. People walk dogs on the sidewalks in the evening. Kids ride bikes. There is a fall party in the cul de sac. I’ve lived here 14 years and I absolutely love it!"
  • Steffensr

"Neighborhood community dinners, small number of homes,we all know each other and are friendly. Custom homes. "
  • Bill S.
"Being in the neighborhood feels like you are in the middle of the gorgeous Sonoran desert, but you are just minutes from any amenity or shopping you need. "
  • djkpm
"I really enjoy living here. It is the closet thing to rural living without any of the inconveniences. Homes are on very large lots -- several acres, and all are low built to blend in with the desert which is mature, with all types of birds, coyotes, javelinas, bobcats, lots of various lizards including Gila Monsters. Never saw a rattle snake but we do have king and gopher snakes. We have added over 250 golden barrels and numerous agaves, trees and shrubs. Beautiful view of Catalinas to the north and A mountain to the south. Neighborhood has no street lights or sidewalks. House is on a cul de sac with a lower drive so not as obvious from road. Quiet and dark, excellent star viewing and 15 different hiking walks thru the washes. Best of all, easy, really easy access to numerous good medical facilities, the U of A and downtown. A real gem in the desert. "
