About this House

This property has been in our family for over 50 years and it is a very special place for us. It is close to nature and feels very removed and also in close proximity to the rest of the bay area. It is a great place to commute to SF or the beaches, downtown Mill Valley and is ideally located at the base on Mt. Tam in Homestead Valley. It has a feeling of old Marin, surrounded by trees and nature. The house is cozy, peaceful and has good natural light and many windows. It is a wooden, rustic home, a peaceful cabin in the woods. It is best for someone that lives simply, doesn't mind walking from the top, is okay with a small kitchenette, and minimal storage. It is very small for two people, but is possible.

This space feels like a sanctuary in the woods, would be both a lovely workspace, creative space, weekend retreat and also could be a very small and simple living space for 1 person or a couple. This is a very minimal space, lightly furnished with two rooms. The living room also has a kitchenette. The tenant will pay for utilities which include water, trash, internet and PG&E. This is best suited for someone that is looking for a rustic, simple, peaceful environment living close to nature in a slice of old Marin. The tenant will need to be able to walk around the main cabin, past chickens and close to bee hives to the little ADU nestled in the trees. The tenant should be comfortable walking down the stairs and down the path to the home. No smoking, small pets okay, prefer someone that is also looking for a calm and quiet and simple space. Proximity to Mt. Tam and downtown Mill Valley make this location ideal, as well as an easy commute to SF as well as the beaches. We are looking for a month to month tenant and are open to short term rentals as well of 3 plus months. Please note it is a very small space, approx. 400 sqft and has a small storage space. Best for someone with a very light footprint, and is also simply furnished.
