About this House
1 Private Bedroom in a shared house, shared bath (with 1 other person), available mid-September or later. Must be a good fit with me and one other renter. Lease is month-to-month. Rent is $825/mo plus your share of the utilities.
THE HOUSE: 3 bed/2 bath house in the Friendly neighborhood with a large fenced in yard and large driveway. The neighborhood doesn't get much traffic and is very quiet. I (the owner) live in the east wing and have my own bathroom, and the two rental rooms are on the opposite side of the house and share a bathroom.
YOUR ROOM: The room for rent is about 10'x12', carpeted. Small baseboard heater, 2 windows with curtains, and a closet. The pictures show a desk in the room but that has been moved out. The room is not furnished. There is a full bathroom next to the room that would be shared with one other renter.
SHARED SPACE: There is a large shared living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. There is also a garage where I can offer some storage. Fenced yard with plenty of space for gardening or just relaxing outside, and a nice gas grill. A big driveway for off-street parking.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Is very friendly and walkable. Just a few blocks from the bus line and the bike path. Great access to parks, and not too far from the UO campus and shopping.
Lease term is month-to-month. The minimum would be 2 months, though I would not choose a renter if I thought they only wanted to stay a short time. You must give 30-day notice if you plan to move out. The current renter has been there over 1 year.
Rent is $825 per month. This does not include your portion of utilities (which would range from $70-150 per month.)
Pets are a possibility but that would depend on the person and the pet. I like both dogs and cats, as does the other renter. But I'd only consider house-broken, well-behaved pets. There would be an additional (refundable) pet deposit.
The up-front cost for you is first ($825), last month ($825), and a security deposit ($825) due prior to move-in.
