"great local park with lots of dogs out and about, there’s a big open field for baseball/softball games that’s mostly used for letting dogs off leash "

"My neighborhood is within walking distance to Friendly Market and Market of Choice. Safe Parks and Sidewalks for walking my dog, beautiful and well kept yards, clean streets for riding bikes and you won’t see any trash anywhere !"

"Walking distance to most of what you could need. Sketchy-ish sometimes. Homeless everywhere but you get used to it. Walk away from campus and there’s a nice little park and neighborhoods to walk around. Overall not too bad"

"This neighborhood is perfect for all types of families. It is an open, friendly, and welcoming area. We take regular walks to the park, grocery store, or just for a little exercise. The sunsets are gorgeous. It is incredibly safe for kids and pets. There is a real sense of community and we have truly enjoyed our time here. I highly recommend the area!"

"I lived at 1125 W 19th for 3 years and we owned and rented 1135 W 19th for 14 years. We have seen the neighborhood stay consistently well-loved and positive the entire time. Very conveniently located to so many things including grocery stores, gas station, downtown, and the UO."

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved into the Friendly neighborhood and left a local private school to try out Adams Elementary. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school! From the principal, Ms. Oliver, to the classroom teachers, everyone has demonstrated a real commitment to getting to know my child and building him up holistically from every angle. Everyone with whom I have interacted is joyful, professional, and a pleasure to speak to. It's not surprising my son loves going to school. The principal reached out to have my son join the Kidsports Basketball team unprompted; a great community building activity. My 3rd grader has lingering trouble with his "r"s and he was immediately assessed for speech and set up with speech services at school from a kind, engaged speech language pathologist. When the kids get in the now-and-again playground quarrels, the school counselor reaches out and is proactive about discussing social skills and accountability. The people here truly care deeply about your children. This school reminds me of my beloved local elementary school back in the 1980s when teachers taught, guided, and were motivated to be positive life-time role models for their kids. The adage is true; it takes a village to raise a child. This school is a first-class example of how local schools can do it right. I highly recommend this school with no reservations!Parent Review4y ago8 Reviews - Yujin Gakuen Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYG and its 30+ year Japanese Immersion Program has been excellent for both my children! The program and its educators value and promote; structure, culture, integrity, kindness, respect and striving for excellence in not only academics but all aspects of life. The community and family involvement has always been excellent! The bond built within my eldest child’s cohort has remained special well into middle school. Most of the long term faculty and educators devote far more time, effort and resources than I’ve witnessed with other schools. The program is moving to a different location and that has been difficult for many, my family is concerned but committed to making it work. We are all hoping that YG will acquire a better and MUCH deserved permanent location soon!Parent Review2y ago8 Reviews
