8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLearning/Teaching: [2] Kids here are more interested in what material the ceiling is made out of than the actual class material. The only classes where I saw REAL active participation were with teachers you could tell love their job. Of course, everyone learns/feels about school differently, but I and many others in my class didn't find any motivation in classes were teachers weren't being active in your schoolwork. Class often felt more like get togethers, and if there was a class policy against talking during lessons, then everyone would most likely be on their phones. No books around these parts. Oh, and if you take AP courses, do NOT take AP English senior year. Unless you're white/white passing... good luck! You're better off in the normal English. Homework is okay. Depending on the courses you take, you either get a lot or you get very little. Most teachers are willing to answer questions if you ask them and there is a tutoring centre where students help other students. In my opinion, it's a lot better to study there than in the library.Social-Emotional Support: [1] If you need mental health support, look for a therapist outside of school. Do not confide in teachers or counsellors. They are supposed to report any instance/hint of you struggling *too hard*, if you know what I mean. Counsellors are only good for schedule changes and talks about classes. Nothing else.Safety: [2] In my time, there was like... 3 (?) incidents concerning the safety of students. You know, the usual threats. But nothing ever happened. Obviously there were fights between students, but those are a staple of school you just can't really get rid of, and no one gets seriously hurt. If they do, 9/10 it's off of school grounds. Discrimination, however, is pretty... noticeable. Especially towards Latinos.Family Engagement: [1] If you want serious family engagement, parents have to be involved. It's one of those instances where you get out what you put in.Disability/Special Ed: [3/Neutral] I don't have any experience with this area. All I know is that I didn't like how the school made those kids the "trash picker-uppers". Maybe they find it helpful, but I find it rather demeaning that it's this specific group. It's a little... questionable. Disability friendly though. There is an elevator and tons of ramps around the school.Overall, it's an alright school. You just have to know when to stand up for yourself and really put in effort.Other Review2mo ago17 Reviews - Creighton Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAmazing my daughter is special needs and the program was awesome the teachers were by her side every step helping her to succeed in anything she washed to do. Helping her learn to cook, helping her count money and talk time also teaching her how to talk out her feelings instead of just shutting down and not taking for periods of time. They made her feel like a human being who belonged and she built grievance she still has even after graduating. Her teachers are still actively caring about her life and things she's into they have kept in touchand seen her through ballet shows, graduations, and also sports games that they got her to start playing. Thank you to the teachers at Creighton yall are incredible!!Parent Review7mo ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 8800 W 14th Ave.

"Not long, pretty short. I work close by and it’s been not a 10 minute drive. A lot of construction recently "

"This neighborhood is an older, blue-collar area that feels safe. A lot of residents own dogs and take good care of them (use a leash, pick up waste, etc.). There is lots of good food delivery options and is close to Belmar retail shopping center. 15 minutes to downtown Denver and 15 minutes to foothills. "

"My neighborhood is not too loud, but not quiet either. It’s loud mostly during daytime hours. There has been car break ins which is a big downside but most people living here are nice overall "

"Opening of the West Rail Line has begun to change the face of the neighborhood from a rural to a close-in urban landscape with unlimited potential for future growth in high-quality, high-density neighborhood. Neighborhood will be well suited for young, college attending singles and future businesses moving into the area to accommodate this demographic. Located near the massive Lakewood TMU zone area at Wadsworth Blvd and Colfax Ave and future increases in real estate value are almost assured. The W Line at the Lakewood-Wadsworth Station IS the premier station of the City of Lakewood. The Station has its own shuttle bus to the Belmar Shopping area and “downtown? Lakewood municipal buildings. With the opening of the West Rail Light Rail Line, the current location is fantastic: LEAVE THE CAR behind and take light rail to see the Broncos, the Nuggets, The Rockies, downtown Denver theater district, and restaurants and cultural events. In 2016 you will be able to LEAVE THE CAR BEHIND and take the light rail to Union Station and take the commuter train to DIA. Cultural and economic trends STONGLY favor the neighborhood as young college graduates, burdened with student loans and the cultural connections with online social media are no longer buying automobiles and all indications point to Gen-Y as preferring to live near transit, downtown Denver, halfway to Golden and gateway to the recreational mountains -- and the desire to LEAVE THE CAR BEHIND along with the automobile’s expense and damage to the environment. "

"Lakewood is revitalizing, beautifying...as it is turning into a lovely place for that sweet combination of retirees and new families/homebuyers. Light rail will allow young and retired to hop aboard to enjoy the city. If you don't need to go downtown, shopping, Starbucks and local restaurants are all within 5-15 minutes. No concern for over-active parties, yet great preservation of land zoned for quiet livestock. Country still lives in the city!"
