What Locals Say about Eiber

Review Highlights

Eiber, Lakewood: tree-lined lots, classic brick homes, good schools, easy transit—a steady family bet. People like safety, quiet streets, parks, light rail, and Lakewood High School. They dislike car break-ins, construction, Colfax traffic, and few kids.

"Not long, pretty short. I work close by and it’s been not a 10 minute drive. A lot of construction recently "
  • Trulia User
"There's a ton of large trees lining the streets. It's a great neighborhood for families and the houses sit on large lots."

"This neighborhood is an older, blue-collar area that feels safe. A lot of residents own dogs and take good care of them (use a leash, pick up waste, etc.). There is lots of good food delivery options and is close to Belmar retail shopping center. 15 minutes to downtown Denver and 15 minutes to foothills. "
  • Virginia M.
"this is an area of older working folks.everyone stays to themselves. iquiet rather unfriended ly near everything."
  • Sydney B.
"The neighborhood has a good commute to places especially downtown and to the mountains it’s not a long drive."

"My neighborhood is not too loud, but not quiet either. It’s loud mostly during daytime hours. There has been car break ins which is a big downside but most people living here are nice overall "

"A quiet neighborhood, a great place to live! Safe, friendly neighbors but everyone mind their own business, pet friendly, chicken friendly, bee friendly. Nice an quiet a night, close to light rail, bus, grocery store, etc. There are not many little kids. Walking distance to Lakewood High School!"

  • Diana S.
"Opening of the West Rail Line has begun to change the face of the neighborhood from a rural to a close-in urban landscape with unlimited potential for future growth in high-quality, high-density neighborhood. Neighborhood will be well suited for young, college attending singles and future businesses moving into the area to accommodate this demographic. Located near the massive Lakewood TMU zone area at Wadsworth Blvd and Colfax Ave and future increases in real estate value are almost assured. The W Line at the Lakewood-Wadsworth Station IS the premier station of the City of Lakewood. The Station has its own shuttle bus to the Belmar Shopping area and “downtown? Lakewood municipal buildings. With the opening of the West Rail Light Rail Line, the current location is fantastic: LEAVE THE CAR behind and take light rail to see the Broncos, the Nuggets, The Rockies, downtown Denver theater district, and restaurants and cultural events. In 2016 you will be able to LEAVE THE CAR BEHIND and take the light rail to Union Station and take the commuter train to DIA. Cultural and economic trends STONGLY favor the neighborhood as young college graduates, burdened with student loans and the cultural connections with online social media are no longer buying automobiles and all indications point to Gen-Y as preferring to live near transit, downtown Denver, halfway to Golden and gateway to the recreational mountains -- and the desire to LEAVE THE CAR BEHIND along with the automobile’s expense and damage to the environment. "

"Lakewood is revitalizing, beautifying...as it is turning into a lovely place for that sweet combination of retirees and new families/homebuyers. Light rail will allow young and retired to hop aboard to enjoy the city. If you don't need to go downtown, shopping, Starbucks and local restaurants are all within 5-15 minutes. No concern for over-active parties, yet great preservation of land zoned for quiet livestock. Country still lives in the city!"
