"Nothing happens in a town with sadness around every corner, but with grit and determination the residents do their best on a daily basis and strive toward community, excellence and prosperity with a strong goal town peace and a foundation of harmony and happiness. May we all be so bold as to push past boundaries and personal prejudice to find our true selves and love each other. "
  • Rashavia Tagger
"It’s really a smooth transition from one side to the next. Depending on the time of the day. But my experience has been smooth "
  • The Protector
"Beware of dangers that lurk around every corner. They creep in the dead of night unexpectedly. Bring an umbrella. Stay out the alleys. Once saw a homeless man fighting with a rat over a bagel. The bagel won. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s a nice family oriented neighborhood with nice clean parks for kids and the people are extremely nice and welcoming "
  • Trulia User
"I like the neighborhood it is a good place to live and to bring kids up and the schools are good and there is a lot of shopping center"
  • Trulia User
"it's quite and a nice neighborhood and I would love to live there and raise my kids there and the neighbors are nice and have a good school "
  • Trulia User
"Other dog owners don’t care for their own dogs. They’re mean and aggressive. Also, there’s a ton of cats and raccoons in the area. "
  • Mike C.
"Convenient to shopping and it’s centrally located to the city and airport................................."
  • Paul M.
"Yes there’s a lot family oriented people of all walks of life I’ve been here in Mckeesrocks for eighteen years it’s a great place to live "
  • Mike S.
"The community is rebuilding and is working on making the area a safer nurturing place to raise a family in affordable housing "
  • A.d. B.
"Lots of dogs. No breed is seen as unacceptable in my experience. People tend to get to know each other through their dogs lol. We probably need to build a dog park. Just make sure to use poo bags. "
  • Paul M. .
"I'm disabled i really don't get out that much! But They have a facility for seniors and disabled in which I really appreciate"
  • Mary K.
"Some people are kind and available some keep to themselves and do not accept anyone different or ethnic. "
  • A.d. B.
"The school systems that serve the area tend to drop kids off right at their door. It’s annoying if your a driver lol, but at the same time, it is good reassurance that your child is safe. And they DO NOT play about people trying to pass while the bus is stopped loading or unloading children. Some bus driver’s even pull diagonal to keep other drivers from putting the kids on harm’s way. You’re also not far from activities even though I don’t think there are a lot of activities directly in the neighborhood. It’s pretty accessible to the city and to Robinson. "
  • Jessica P.
"This is a dog friendly neighborhood! More people need to clean up after their dogs though. We walk our dogs a lot, and always have bags with us. It would be nice if they set up dog stations on each block - that might help! 😁"
  • Ray J.
"I love it here very quiet neighborhood and nice neighbors new sidewalk also added very nice neighborhood"
  • Duane L. C.
"Its a friendly environment and quiet on some occasions This area has a nice walking distance to public transportation "
  • Smith M.
"If the areas are safe for their children and know about the schools also public transportation are there store close by "
  • Ray J.
"Good neighborhood too live in sometimes has its ups and downs but besides that not too bad too live here "
  • Timothy M.
"I would describe the commute to work is fairly simple they are very many ways to get onto the highway or take back roads to either townships to make sure you can get to work accurately and there are buses available almost every corner"
  • J.
"We have dog waste stations with waste bags in four places in our development. They might not like that many neighbors (with large dog breeds) don't take advantage of them and cause unsightly waste in common areas."
  • Bryon R.
"It’s better than driving to town from the south hills. There really isn’t that much traffic at anytime of the day ...it’s really not that bad but if your picky take a helicopter .............."
  • Randy1989woods
"Nothing special about mckees rocks There are no community events that they regularly do Nothing at all"
  • Luchtla
"Great, safe neighborhood for children and pets. Good schools and churches. However no public transportation. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of events for kids and adults. Tons of stuff to do at libraries and free previews/nights for ballet/theatre/museums etc. "
  • Darrsb_aol

  • Darrsb_aol
"Lived here 35 years, great place to raise kids, dog friendly, own Parker in plan. All homes similar age."
  • D
"People leave their dogs out all day and night. Dogs are always getting loose & people don’t obey the leash laws or pick up after their dogs. "
  • Lady 2
"there are dogs fenced-in at almost every house. some owners leave their dogs loose. it is very noisy and makes both of my dog's bark and they're normally quiet. There is almost no time at all that there isn't a dog barking. and I'm an animal lover"
  • Jessica P.
"There are a lot of places to walk your dog here. I don’t see too many people walking dogs, but I’d still say the area is dog friendly. There are a lot of fenced in yards for dogs. "
  • Itsdozier
"ive live here for almost a year and the neighbors are great everybody mines there own business around here "
  • Mzlisa W.
"Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It’s the small town ambience with big city amenities. Great schools "
  • Durellelofton
"Nothing is unique about this neighborhood, it's over priced and not safe for kids. The school is one of Pittsburgh"s worst and it has a high drug, and crime rate."
  • Whitney W.
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 15 years and I love it I love the old school charms and the convenience is awesome "
