3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a review from someone who is not from the area. We relocated to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago so we we're not familiar with the area or the schools around us, and I always take reviews with a grain of salt. We are on the border between Brentwood & Carrick and were unsure what school my daughter would end up at, but lets be honest, we were hoping for Brentwood because.. reviews. Hate to say that but like I said, I didn't have any understanding of the area all that much and the move happened fast. But my daughter is now in her second year and it's really unfortunate that this school gets so much hate because coming in from a whole different state was stressful enough for her but there's been nothing but good support for her from admin and her classmates. I'm not familiar with anything going on there that would warrant such a bad review. My wife is more active with her activities than I but no red flags have ever come up. Her grades are consistently well, and there's been more than enough opportunities for her to get more help when she needed it. We're always in the know about what's going on.. sometimes a little TOO much with the emails but I think that's a minor nuisance and not even that big of a deal.I hope parents will do their homework when it comes to their kids education. It's easy to rely on a few bad reviews or get fixated on external things. I'll leave my review up until something changes.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Pittsburgh Allegheny 6-8

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has put me in the lowest state I have ever been in. There are very little teachers who actually know how to manage a class and bullying was never handled correctly. I’ve been so drained here despite the fact that there is no good education to get out of this. I had also gone through something a few months ago that had a terrible impact on me mentally. I did not have the support I needed from the school and it got to the point where ADMINISTRATION was needed because nobody could take any action. It was as if they were “clueless” In fact, the people around me turned my situation into a joke, they laughed at me and mocked me as if I wasn’t a real person who had unexpectedly experienced this. I had never felt so defenseless in my life. It took forever for me to get any justice and when I got that I still felt unsafe and stressed. I also feel awful for the few people who work here who actually put EFFORT INTO THEIR JOB, just to get disrespected constantly. It’s shocking that they still even want to work here and put up with this job because I definitely would not. Anyway, this school is horrible. Do not send your kid here under any circumstances unless you don’t care about their mental or physical health. If I had to point out one really tiny positive, I made a few cool friends, but the key word is few because it’s very rare. I am grateful for them though. Worst three years of my life.Student Review2mo ago6 Reviews - Pittsburgh West Liberty K-5

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is phenomenal. We are so fortunate to go here. Our daughter loves school, has made wonderful friends. From the first week the teachers all seem to know every child by name. Students are greeted each morning with an all-school assembly with drumming, singing, a welcome message by the Principal, and the school rock band rocking out. Its a fantastic way to start the day! There are tons of field trips, lots of art and music incorporated into each day. We love it here!Parent Review8y ago5 Reviews - Pittsburgh Science And Technology Academy 6-12

"People have good dog walking etiquette and typically ask if dogs can meet or will politely cross the street ahead of time if they don't want dogs to cross paths. "

"I lived there for many years, the parks are great. The grocery store is not within a walking distance. There are lots of shops, ethnic foods, bars and restaurants on the boulevard. It is over a mile from southcrest, but is on the busline. Without car you need to get rides to gricery stores though. It is a safe neighborhood I raised kids here for about ten years."

"What makes Brookline unique is the walkability of it, the amount of local stores within walking distances and morning commute into town from 15 - 30 mins. Also there is a community gym, pool and many parks. They are also renovating the aldi's to be much larger than it previously was. South Hills Village is roughly 20-30 min drive. A lot of dog walkers in the area and younger people as well, certainly an up and coming neighborhood in that regard."
