7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHere are my intense feelings about Guyer High School. I have two grandchildren that attend Guyer. I am very involved in their lives. Here is what has transpired in the last 12 months of school: They changed the bus route. My grandchildren have two parents that work. I refuse to let these kids walk home in this heat and be subjected to child trafficking. Next, my grandson was in the bathroom doing his business and a girl walked in to use the restroom. The school did nothing to address this. This is 100% unacceptable as I refuse to agree that transgender bathrooms are acceptable. A girl told my granddaughter to go kill herself and the school ignored it because they said the girl had mental issues. Once of her teachers was on her cell phone and she needed help on a math problem and the teacher told her to "figure it out" Why the heck am I paying $12,000 a year on taxes in Denton County if we do not have teachers. Then the camel that broke everything was when they did not offer 504 to my granddaughter that has chronic migraines, a letter from the neurologist and instead kicked her and her brother (that is in band and in band camp and practice every single day) out of the school for her absences due to a chronic illness. They are trying to make them go to a school three times farther away and are punishing her for her illness. This is it. I will scream from the rooftops to protect their rights. Who the heck is watching out for our kids with disabilities? You want to talk discrimination; this is discrimination and the fact that the school allows our non-trans mentally stable kids to be embarrassed by the wrong gender is the bathrooms is inexcusable. Parents......it's your job to protect your children. I fought for my kids when the school was out of line, and they are here for sure. I am proud of my son he is fighting back against the wokeness going on here and the punishment they now throwing at them for my granddaughters' absences that are not her fault.Other Review2y ago19 Reviews - Nelson Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attends Nelson and she loves it!! The teachers are warm and welcoming. Every single teacher she's had went above and beyond to make sure she grew academically but also socially. They did an amazing job building relationships and was always so friendly and welcoming. I love Nelson Elementary!Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near 7113 Wright Ct.

"Its a college town, I wouldn’t say its the most family forward, its not Frisco by any means. Areas near the downtown are walkable. The square is very family friendly. "

"All of the parades in the Denton square. Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and many film related ones. Very cool stuff and I hope we do that more. Also Denton is where I met the love of my life, "

"The community at times has issues with stray vehicles coming in and out of the neighborhood at high speeds. But other then that which has decreased immensely in the past months the neighborhood is a nice and quiet community for a growing/retiring family."

"the community events that make this place spacial are holiday events such as the day of the dead and some others that relate to the diversity of this beautiful town. The tranquility and humanity of the people are very precious, especially when they all gather together. The square of denton organizes magnificent events that are curated by the owners of every business located in denton. I really recommend denton and its traditions to all people, especially to students that come from different states of the USA, but also from other countries. There are many restaurants, ice cream places, bars, and warming coffee shops that make people feel at home. I lived here for two years during my time at UNT, and I really had so much fun in the town with my friends and classmates. It is very easy to find houses and apartments to stay living peacefully in denton tx. All these characteristics make southeast denton very special."

"There’s no sidewalks and there’s minimal lighting. There’s also a lot of stickers in the grass that get stuck in my dogs feet. It’s nice though that it’s quiet and everyone is friendly around the neighborhood when they see you. "

"The people are definitely genuinely nice. Good churches. Some recent crime however. It’s not the worst place on earth but being a college town (I suppose that’s the reason) there’s been poor service at many restaurants and fast food establishments. "
