They pay attention to the least helpful aspects of the students day to day life, such as parent meetings etc.. when they really should be paying attention to the students mental health in safety.

We're moving out of the Oyster River School District so that our 4th grader won't have to go to ORMS. Homework, when it is assigned, is ineffective, particularly in language classes. Even academically gifted students who go from ORMS to private schools have to take remedial language classes to catch up. There are some great teachers, but there are also teachers who should have retired a long time ago. One year, they removed desks from the foreign language classes because it was the only way to get the kids to listen to the teachers. Students openly talk about teachers who are pervs, but say that there's no point in going to the principal because he thinks it's a he-said-she-said thing and won't do anything about kids and teachers who are sexual harassers. Bullying is also a huge problem at ORMS, and on the buses, and they don't seem to have any policies to deal with it.

As somebody who went to Moharimet a few years back, I absolutely do not recommend this school. While yes, there was the little pumpkin patch and maple syrup collecting activities that were fun and unique, I got bullied a lot here and teachers did absolutely nothing. Some teachers would get upset at me for the smallest of things like not standing up for the pledge of allegiance or because I didn’t complete my schoolwork on time, but things like not being as focused in class and not completing schoolwork was because of disabilities the school said my parents needed to pay like $10,000 dollars for, and I even had teachers who tried to tell my parents they couldn’t know I was autistic (something I ended out being) due to the fact I was an only child and had no kid to compare to, and also teachers pulled me and other girls in my class to another classroom so they could individually tell me something that I did that they didn’t like in hopes I would change. Also teachers would dismiss any bullying that happened as “come to me the next day” but never be in the area for rotation. Bullying only got resolved after the principal saw footage and saw I was being bullied. Don’t send your child here, especially if you suspect your child to have a learning disability.
