Awful school. So glad to finally take our child out. First off the receptionists are the rudest people I’ve ever experienced greating people into a school. I once watched as an office worker made fun of my autistic child behind his back right in front of me! The administration is a joke. Time after time my child gets bullied and the administration sees it on their cameras yet give the bulling students no repercussions. They make my child feel as if he is doing something wrong. I admit there are a few decent teachers trying their hardest but the school holds any of their attempts back. Also the safety is a joke. Picking up my child after school is a nightmare. The parents race up and down broadway blvd with no regard for the children’s safety and the school does absolutely nothing about it. The only time I have ever seen faculty in front of the school when the children get out is when they stand at the neighboring apartments telling the children not to sit on their stairs. IMO you should avoid taking your children to this school if you value their safety.

I transferred my son from a magnet school to Horace Mann Elementary School because it is our assigned neighborhood school. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the transition has been disappointing. The school did not meet our expectations regarding academic support and social-emotional services.During our time at the school, communication was inconsistent, and concerns raised were not always addressed in a timely or effective manner. There appeared to be limited follow-through when support was requested. Interactions with school staff, including administration and yard supervision, felt procedural rather than responsive to individual student needs.My child did not receive the level of academic guidance or emotional support that I believe is essential for a positive learning environment. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and parental concerns were often acknowledged but not meaningfully resolved.If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly urge parents to do thorough research and ask hard questions before enrolling their children here.

Roosevelt has the best kids in the district. They are respectful and kind. The staff is very caring and works hard to develop relationships with students.
